This Year's Model Updates:

XLE and XLE Limited models now offer a power-adjustable passenger seat.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, fold-flat 60/40 third-row seat, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, great fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

  • Tight in the turns - 2005 Toyota Sienna

After 8 years of a Ford Widstar Minivan, and an increasing repair bill, I needed a change. My 2005 Sienna continues to impress me. The tight turn radius is great. The comfort level is impresive. Cant wait to take my family on a long drive so my 4 children can enjoy the DVD player. Im sure it will be a big hit. Great job Toyota! Goodbye FORD!

We purchased the plain Jane model but even so, this vehicle still comes loaded with features that other car manufacturers would consider options. It is a very nice vehicle. We purchased it after reviewing Consumer Digests reviews of 2004 model vehicles. Our top concerns were safety and dependability. With this vehicle, we have both.

Like the title says .. smooth Jazz. If you want to take the stress/work out of driving with ALL the room in the world, Sienna is your Van. Like an edmunds.com editor aptly said - the lexus of Minvians. This Van drives like a dream. Even after owning it for more than a year, I still sometimes cant be sure if the engine is on - Silky smooth. Ive put 17k miles on it all over west coast and look forward to enjoy it for years to come. Mileage is great for a car its size.

I recently drove 200 miles and kept watch on the gas mileage. It never passed 23.4 mpg and I tried driving fast and slow on the highway hoping itd change but didnt.

  • It started off so well - 2005 Toyota Sienna

Bought van brand new after bad Chrysler T&C. The first 3 years were great. Here is the laundry list of problems we have encountered, none unique to us: rear door not staying up - repaired b4 recall issued, tires wear extremely quickly even w/ regular rotation, radio does not respond to buttons correctly and often has no display or only partial digital display, gear shift clip broken so have to hold with one hand while removing keys from ignition when you park, manual side door handle broken-2X, gasket around windshield detached and dealer blamed on auto carwashes that I rarely used, side doors freeze shut every winter-in NASHVILLE!, auto door no longer works w/buttons - must start manually

  • Untrustworthy gas mileage - 2005 Toyota Sienna

After 15000 miles, the gas mileage started slipping. At this point we are getting 16-18 mpg max. Also, the dealer failed to finish coat the paint, and it scratches very easily.

Just love it! Handles beautifully and engine is very quiet. Tons of room with stow away rear seats.

Very comfortable, quiet vehicle which handles potholes and turns superbly.

  • My first Sienn - 2005 Toyota Sienna

When I test drove this minivan, there was no comparison between it and the competition. I drove the Honda Odyssey as well, but elected to buy the Sienna because of the AWD feature. My two biggest disappointments are the drivers seat and economy. I am disappointed in the seat comfort for the drivers side because leg room is lacking and the seat is too short for proper support of the leg. I feel like Im sitting on the edge of the seat. The economy is rated at 19-24, but it hasnt seen 20 yet, and only a time or two has 19 mpg been achieved. The van is solid, reliable, and fun to drive with enough power under the hood. The AWD feature works wonderfully in the inclement weather.
