This Year's Model Updates:

XLE and XLE Limited models now offer a power-adjustable passenger seat.

Pros:
  • Smooth ride, refined V6, fold-flat 60/40 third-row seat, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, great fuel economy, available all-wheel drive.
Cons:
  • A bit too much lean in the corners, seat comfort and noise isolation could be better, expensive option packages.

I grew up as a Toyota person and my first car was a Toyota Supra, then Celica GT, then another Celica GT. Now I have a Sienna with every option possible and unbenounced to me, I have lived the past two years as the most frustrated person owning a vehicle. The warranty support by Toyota is poor at best when comparing to Honda...thus the need for extensive warranty in the first 24 months speaks to itself. Never say never...but my intent is to rid myself of this Toyota and never own another Toyota product.

  • Watch the DOORS! - 2005 Toyota Sienna

Sliding rear doors have been malfunctioning since purchased. Do not buy this model if you live in cold climates: the sliding doors freeze shut on a regular basis. Also one of the sliding doors malfunction and will not open at all (feels like the child lock is on even when it is off.) Other people with same problems can be found on edmunds.com under Toyota Sienna. Dealer wants $850.00 to fix. It really seems like a defective door yet they want consumer to cover the cost. In addition, dont ever try reaching Toyota on their 800 number unless you have time to spare. I was on hold 60 min before they picked up. Other times I hung up after 20 min. Not concerned for customer.

  • Clunking - 2005 Toyota Sienna

Off the lot, the rear AC did not work. Then the driver door was replaced as part of the recall (note that we had had problems with the door, but were told repeatedly that nothing was wrong). At 2 years with the Sienna, noted a clunking sound when turning. Toyota service department found no problem. Clunking persisted for the next 2 years. Now, have had to replace the rack ($1200). No more clunking, although service department states that the two were not related.

Always thought Toyota was a great car, but I think their head started to swell, and the quality went down. The Marriage between Dunlop And Toyota should end in divorce. Not a good match. I have gone through 8 sets of tire before( lots of money), putting on bridge stones. The Tire light goes off and on with a mind of its own and the sliding door will open by them self. Cant wait to get rid of it.
