This Year's Model Updates:

The Sienna has been completely redesigned for 2004. Roomier and more powerful than before, Toyota's minivan entry now has the all-important fold-flat third-row seat, as well as a choice of seven- or eight-passenger seating (on lower level trims) and available all-wheel drive.

Pros:
  • Reliable Camry genes, refined V6, fold-flat 60/40 third-row seat, seven- and eight-passenger seating configurations, available all-wheel drive.

We are a family of 6 and the van is our lifeline. We are almost always transporting additional children and equipment. It meets those needs admirably. We are certain that our vehicle will run well each time we get behind the wheel. Maintenance has been virtually incident free. Its sleek good looks have garnered many compliments and we will buy another Sienna when the time comes. This is our third. Go get one for yourself.

Excellent overall. The only comment is the lack of visibility to drive backwards.

I will only buy Toyota. This thing is so sweet to drive and so much more reliable than GM.

  • Love it, but wished we would have waited - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Love this van. Only problem is I wished we would have waited for the second line 2004s to come out. Had major run-flat problems... dont get them. I call if I have a flat anyway. A lot of technical / recall glitches. This van is in shop more than my old crummy Caravan. Love the luxury of the Limited. We are in process of trading 2004 Sienna in for the Toyota Sequoia. I would buy the Sienna again, just not the first run of the changed model.

  • Great after 2+ yrs of road trips - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I travel at least once a month, being retired I wanted a comfortable, reliable, safe vehicle to ride in. I have taken my Sienna from San Francisco to Canada, to New York, to Florida, you name it. This van is plenty comfortable, very safe, and reliable! There are plenty of neat features, such as laser cruise control which slows you down when approaching a car, plenty of power when traveling, I passed cars going up steep grades, and the AWD is awesome, never need chains and travels great on snow.

Very nice van with a lot of features. But a Toyota is always Toyota. It feel a bit numb and its not very car like.

  • Very trouble-prone vehicle - 2004 Toyota Sienna

I have to say that my 2004 Sienna has been the most trouble-prone vehicle Ive owned. Multiple recalls and numerous repairs including odd items like broken rear gate closers and driver door closer. Difficulty getting the extended warranty (purchased through dealer) to step up.

I miss the design of the old Sienna, but love the bigger hauling capacity. Not pleased about getting my first recall on it, but not overly worried. The black plastic dash looks like Darth Vaders head, and its hard to keep clean. Hooray for the folding 3rd seat. Gas mileage has been great.

  • Very Disappointed - 2004 Toyota Sienna

Shortly after purchasing my Sienna, I began having problems. The dealer couldnt figure out why my check engine light came on several times a week, so they sent the van to another dealer two hours away. That dealer replaced the computer. My radiator has been replaced, all hoses have been replaced, and the fuses blow constantly. I LOVE this van as far as comfort and ease of driving. I am just very disappointed that I spent this much money and Im having this many problems. We are in the process of purchasing another vehicle.
