Overview & Reviews
One of America's favorite cars is all new this year. Design goals for the 2002 Toyota Camry included larger interior packaging, reduced noise, more advanced safety features, better driving dynamics and, of course, a new standard of value.
- Roomy, powerful engines, plenty of safety and luxury features.
- High prices for XLE, costly premium features.

MY 2002 CAMRY - 2002 Toyota Camry
By william goldman - September 17 - 6:00 amWhen my Corolla was starting to get too small for me, I decided to get something larger. I purchased and extended warrantee, and have yet to use it. This vehicle made it through two years if freezing Toledo, Ohio without a single problem. I just turned 54,500 miles, and the car drives like new. This will most certainly be my last vehicle. With this low mileage, the car will outlast me.

Camry XLE V6 - 2002 Toyota Camry
By CBHP - September 15 - 10:00 pmI have had the car since November 2001. I upgraded from a 2001 Camry LE to the 2002 XLE V6. This was a great upgrade, the car is much more powerful and comfortable to drive. After about 15,000 miles, I am still loving it.

Love My Camry!! - 2002 Toyota Camry
By julesm - August 21 - 10:00 amI just purchased my first toyota and I LOVE it! I will never go back to american built cars. It is so smooth riding and I cannot believe how powerful the 4 cyl engine is. My husband has a V6 engine in his car (not a toyota) and I think the acceleration is just as good, if not better, with my camry. The controls are simple and designed to be in good reach for the driver. It is very quiet and has a great sound system. I can get just over 500 miles on a tank of gas (mainly highway miles)I think I will be a toyota buyer for life!

Comfortable ride. - 2002 Toyota Camry
By Viv - July 11 - 7:43 pmI bought it used with 38000 miles. Engine light came on a few months after purchase. I ignored it. At 86000 miles I had the 02 sensor and catalytic converter fixed. Paid 1200.00 to get car fixed. Was not a happy camper. Since then, no other problems. I hope to drive it for at least 250000 miles.

Love my Camry - 2002 Toyota Camry
By shelly - July 6 - 7:16 amI am very pleased with my 2002 Camry SE. I purchased it new, and the styling still looks fresh. I have had absolutely zero problems with this car. It is still perfect and drives like new. Although it only has a 4 cyl engine, the pick up is excellent. Friends have commented that it feels like a V6 in power. This is the longest that Ive ever kept a car! (almost 5 years)

Thump in rear suspension - 2002 Toyota Camry
By Sfiega - May 26 - 10:00 amI love this car except for the thumping sound in the rear suspension on bumps. Its been to the dealership 3 times for this. The claim they hear nothing. Its always there on bumpy roads. I think they hear it but dont know of a fix. It is very annoying on bumpy roads or tar strips on the freeways.

Great and reliable car - 2002 Toyota Camry
By colin_88 - May 21 - 1:14 pmI received this car as a hand-me-down from my aunt in 2009 with 66K miles. In the three years in my possession, it is the most reliable car Ive ever owned. In those three years, it has not needed anything for inspection, which makes me happy. Now at 104K miles, there are two MINOR problems that I discovered, such as a moaning steering wheel and a recent minor fuel leak. Overall it is a very trustworthy and stubborn car. I definitely recommend this car to anyone.
