  A Poor Choice - 2002 Toyota Camry

  The Camry is a very comfortable car. For a long trip this car is quiet and it rides wonderfully. The interior controls are excellent. I am dissappointed with the build quality and the overall gas mileage (Average=23.1). There a intermittent rattles that cannot be fixed. The styling is bland. I would not buy this car again.

  I bought the vehicle on a friends advice and love it. It rides nice, drives nice, and gets some awesome gas mileage. There is not much to really say except that its a typical Toyota, reliable,economical, and practical. The 2litre engine is excellent and peppy for a vehicle this size but the brakes are a little spongy. I tend to have a lead foot and this vehicle responds so well to the abuse I put it through that I will definetly buy another Toyota for my next car which will probably be in three years. It is an excellent vehicle and is everything I need and then some from a vehicle.

  This car has changed my attitude about cars. When I was younger I used to get excited about cars, couldnt wait to see the new models. As I cot older and accumulated experience thru the 70s, 80s, 90s, my passions faded as one car after the other dissapointed me. After going thru a period of buy American and accept mediocrity, I have returned to feeling excited about cars and the Camry is the reason why. I love to drive this car.

  Need more leg room. - 2002 Toyota Camry

  Love everything about this vehilcle except: Poor functional design of the drivers seat. Seat is too short, so it does not give support under thighs, seat is not tilted upward enough, and most importantly, seat will not go back far enough to allow enough leg room. My 89 Civic LX has more legroom and a more comfortable seat. I expected more from a car this much larger that my Civic. Im dreading taking this car on a long trip where leg room is very important to me.

  Just bought A Camry - 2002 Toyota Camry

  I just bought the new 2002 6 cyl Camry two days ago. Great to drive. Lots of power. I test drove the 4 cyl, but the 6 cyl is more smoother and has more power. The day after I bought the car, however, I thought I smelled a very faint odor like rotten eggs when I turned on the heater. It was very brief. I keep thinking that its all in my head, but Ill wait and see. The only other thing Ive noticed is the Camrys too long braking distance. Otherwise the car is roomy, and I love it! I got a great deal, $3000 off the MSRP.

  Excellent ugly car - 2002 Toyota Camry

  This is a great car for its class, except that for some reason, Toyota decided to ugly it up some. It looks like a whale made out of Jello. A friend actually bought one (not me), but I think Im going to get a used 01 Camry. Obviously, the assorted sqeaks, rattles, and vibes that some people are getting are due to the new body design (and doors, trunk, hood, etc.) not having been widely tested yet. The inside will be as quiet as a mouse next year. : )

  I recommend this car with some exceptions. This is the most comfortable car Ive driven so far. Adequate leg room for 6ft+ tall person. I have had some issues with this car also. The brakes stink. Too much travel and requires constant adjustment. Its too low to the ground. Fully loaded (5 pass) it scrapes the highway. Wish cruise control was molded in steering wheel. Cheap carpeting, keeps lifting. Overall quality could be better.

  This car is well built. It has personality style but not that exciting to drive. The tranny and engine are smooth and well contolled. The 2.5L 4- banger is fuel effecient but not exceptionally powerful. The interor is quiet. The steering is improved over my previous Camry but not as responsive as it could be. The brakes have good stopping ability but feel a little mushy to the touch. Toyota needs to find and fix that annoying rattle that I hear in the door. Ive gone to the dealer but, of course they claim they never here it.
