Overview & Reviews
One of America's favorite cars is all new this year. Design goals for the 2002 Toyota Camry included larger interior packaging, reduced noise, more advanced safety features, better driving dynamics and, of course, a new standard of value.
- Roomy, powerful engines, plenty of safety and luxury features.
- High prices for XLE, costly premium features.

2002 Toyota Camry LE - 2002 Toyota Camry
By amarone1973 - January 29 - 7:56 amI have owned many cars at many price points (eg Chrys 300M, BMW 325I, Cadi STS, VW Passat) most brand new, this is by far the BEST value for your buck. I have owned this car from the start, no problems what so ever NONE. Original tires went 90KM, everything else is 100% original and have well over 150km (95Miles) and not a penny spent. Change my fluids, and treat the car normal. I expect well over 400KM like a friend has. I totally would re-buy again. See you in another 5-10 years Toyota!!

Great design but minor rattles - 2002 Toyota Camry
By Keithn2 - January 18 - 10:00 amIve had the car for 11,000 miles and find it to be a great car. The only concern Ive had are the small rattles coming from doors. Ive also noticed the engine idles rough when coming to a stop. Ive never had much success with dealers fixing rattles and noises. Hope they dont get worse with age.

Excellent Car!! - 2002 Toyota Camry
By C.S. - January 1 - 10:00 amI have had my car for 1 year and 3 months now, and its still going strong!! about 10,500 miles now. There is now an annoying squeak in the dash on the right side, the dealer cant find what it is. The radio display has somehow gotten moisture behind it, and it is a little fogged up. Other than that it is still great and I dont regret buying it. We looked at Impala and Taurus, but neither had as much to offer.

Good midsize with lots of annoyances - 2002 Toyota Camry
By Jabberwocky - December 28 - 5:26 amRuns good most of the time (hard to start in the winter). Powerful and smooth engine. Gets around 30 mpg. Smooth, quiet ride with roomy and comfortable interior. Now the bad... Interior is very cheap; its just about falling apart. Engine does not want to start in cold weather. Car is too low. It bottoms out on everything! Hard to get parts for. Toyota charges an arm and a leg for the parts they do have. No ABS with brakes that tend to lock up all the time. Transmission likes to downshift when slowing down on a downhill. If it does that in the rain or snow your tires will lose traction! Ive had too many close calls with lost traction in this car.

Solid Sedan - 2002 Toyota Camry
By Bobsmiles - December 14 - 2:00 amCamry LE with 4 cylinder is a solid performer that has plenty of power for any traffic. Excellent ride and room without the high cost of a luxury car. At 30-34 mpg on the highway it consistently gets good gas mileage. Back seat is very comfortable for long rides. The old Camrys were great, the new ones are better.

old reliable - 2002 Toyota Camry
By jl - July 23 - 8:06 pmI bought this car on sale when the 2003 models came out. Repairs have been slighlty more than I expected but I think it is because the dealer has pumped up service sales. With 100,000 miles the car still handles very well and is very quiet. Brakes seem to wear out more quickly than my last Camry and the AC has broken down twice with leaks but otherwise a great car.
