I have a problem with exhaust fumes getting into the car under heavy excelleration or when towing. All windows up. Both the dealer and Toyota confirmed it and said it is the gas outside of California and the car is performing to its standards and they can not do anything. It smells like rotten eggs. Toyota corporate said too bad but it is my problem. Also dont expect to see the dash guages with sun glasses on.

Extremely quiet, well built vehicle. Comfortable on long trips trips to the beach to drive out right to the oceans edge and fish.

Just bought the 2004 4Runner SR5 with third row option. I like the silver bumper that come with the galactic gray color. Love the feature that individual seat on second and third row can be fold down to put my ski. Drove the car to my ski resort in the snow and this thing rocks. The VSC is cool and it helped me once on a really icy surface.

  • Match made in Jackson - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

I had totally been turned off of the new design of the 2003+ 4Runner. However, it grew on me. When my lease on my Acura Intergra (my 3rd, 2dr sports car), was ending; I went straight for the SUVs. I had previously researched the SUVs and became intrigued with the 4Runners. All it took was one stroll around the first parking lot(which happend to be Hallmark Toyota). I was sold, so after working out all the details...I had my dream car. It just seems like it was a match made in Jackson.

Interior is well designed, with controls in easy reach. its hard to be uncomfortable. Telescoping/tilt steering keeps the drivers air bag at the right distance. Engine noise? You wonder if its running. Plenty of acceleration! Exterior cues are right on! Sporty, modern... This vehicle works well in every condition. I took it off road a month after we got it, and it handled like a champ! The snow this past winter was nothing. VSC prevented any surprises! If you can get an suv, get the 4-Runner!

A surprisingly comfortable, quiet and secure vehicle. First departure from European sport sedans for me. Love being able to see other than only straight up when in parking lots.

PROS: This is the second SUV I have owned (the first was a Pathfinder) and am very impressed by the smooth and powerful 245hp/V6 engine. If you are not bent on towing a lot, this would be a better choice than the V8. The interior is quiet refined and comfortable. This definitely gives you more value for your money than owning a BMW X5. I rate this as an EXCELLENT BUY!

  • 4runner, part 2 - 2004 Toyota 4Runner

I just bought my new 2003 4runner limited with navigation. I LOVE THIS CAR! When I got into the new 4runner, I was amazed! It is as/more comfortable than anything I have ever riden in, including top-of- the-line Mercedes/Jags, etc. The touch screen navigation system is simple and fast to use, and the sound system is amazing! The fact that it came standard with towing capacity and roof rails saved me a good $1000 from having to get them installed after-market. I cant say enough about this vehicle!!!

Powerful, comfortable, practical and elegant. I love driving it and my dog cant wait to go for rides. The looks are growing on me but I wish it looked tougher and more distinctive. Inside, it is fantastic. The smooth engine and torquie acceleration are tremendous and it is ready for any kind of weather condition. Just keep it in gas and oil and go. Best vehicle I have ever owned.
