Overview & Reviews
For 2004, all Imprezas sport revised front and rear fascias -- gone are the oddball circular headlamps in favor of a more mainstream wedge-shaped design. In addition, all models get upgraded suspension struts (to improve ride quality and steering response), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, a collapsible pedal system, revised gauges and a new stereo faceplate. The WRX and Outback Sport receive projector beam foglights. Inside, WRX models have new sport seats, a central tachometer and darker gray faux metal accents. The TS wagon, Outback Sport and RS sedan add an in-glass antenna, active front head restraints, central power door lock switch and multireflector halogen headlights. Further, the TS now has four-wheel disc brakes. The RS sedan's keyless entry system now has an audible confirmation feature, and keyless entry is now standard on the TS. Finally, the WRX sedan is now available with a Premium Package that includes a sunroof, trunk spoiler, heated mirrors, heated front seats and a wiper de-icer.
- A stout 227 horsepower in the WRX, all-wheel-drive grip, a variety of sedans and wagons to choose from, fun to drive.
- Often pricey when compared to its competition, tight rear quarters.

X STI C - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Strider - November 8 - 2:00 amWhat a fun car to drive as a daily commuter. Power will definitly get you tickets if you dont practice some self control. Invest in a radar detector (V1)...saved me a few times already. You WILL get people wanting to race you at stoplights!...dont think most even have an idea whats under the hood :) Its just nice to know that you would win in most cases.

Auf wiedersehen VW! - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By behrcub77 - October 15 - 10:00 amRide is absorbent and tight at the same time. Ive had three GTI VR6 VWs before this and always held off because of the 02-03 WRX styling. Now that I got a Blue Pearl WRX with the great 04 redesign...I think the only thing to make me reconsider would be an STi in a year or two!

Perfect for the enthusiast - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By Josh - October 12 - 2:56 pmIf youre not a sports car enthusiast, do not even test drive one of these cars. However for those of us who enjoy a performance car that has everything you need and nothing you dont. This is the car you need to have. Who cares about the ride comfort? I dont know about you but I didnt buy this car to be a luxurious sunday driver. The power is always there, turbo lag? Not really much of a factor if you know what youre doing. If the gas mileage were better I would take this car everywhere.

More bang for the buck - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By NewSubaru - October 2 - 2:00 amThe 2004 WRX wagon is fun to drive and gives you some great features (AWD, ABS, Turbo, and 227hp). The other cars in this market included the 325xi and Audi Quattro A4 wagon. I looked at the WRX while on my way to the BMW & Audi dealerships just out of curoisity

47 going on 19 - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By discolew - September 27 - 2:00 amI didnt need a new car. I stewed over it for a couple of weeks. But, I convinced myself that I wasnt getting any younger and besides, the Sti is a great family car. I almost bought an Evo but I felt more comfortable with the larger Sti engine. This car ROCKS! I get an adrenaline rush every time I drive it. This car looks great and has top of the line factory performance. Buyer beware this is a performance car with a rough ride and road noise. If you are looking for a performance LUXURY car, look else- ware.

I love it!!!!!!!!!!! - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By snowman01 - September 27 - 2:00 amI have had the car about 1 month so far and i absolutely love it. It is so much fun to drive. It handles great on the road. The heated seats are great too. The car is on the small side, so if you have a family it may not be the best car. however, i am married and have a 5 year old and we fit fine. it is just a little smaller than most cars. it is well worth the money though.

Fun sports car yet fuel efficient - 2004 Subaru Impreza
By dgman - September 5 - 10:30 amI have had my WRX for over 3 years now. I almost bought an 04 Mazda 6 instead but after driving each of them, I couldnt get the performance of the Subie out of my head. It is just too much fun to drive. The turbo is a different kind of fast, but the car is undeniably fast. If you are a "muscle car" person who thrives on low end torque, you wont like this car. The WRX is grippy and slow off the line and the power explodes at 3K RPM all the way to redline. Second gear is amazing. If you behave and drive nicely, you can get close to 30 MPG. The trunk is usable. I even have a child seat in the backseat. The car is a 5 star safety rated vehicle. Lots of great features.
