For 2006, the Scion xA gets a mild styling refresh that includes updated designs for the lower air intake, headlamps, taillamps, wheel covers and front grille. Inside, there is new seat fabric and the speedometer background is now white instead of last year's silver. The xA also receives a new steering wheel with audio controls, and the Pioneer audio system has a new head unit design and remote mini-jack port for portable music sources. Additionally, the xA offers dedicated Apple iPod connectivity, which delivers iPod display information and allows unit control and recharging through the audio system. Finally, the xA's horsepower rating drops from 108 to 103 due to new SAE testing procedures.
- The cool stuff costs extra, modest passing power with automatic transmission, no cruise control.

I was fortunate enough to see a scion xA for sale near me and immediately looked into it. Ive been meaning to put my 2 cents on here about this car: I LOVE IT. If you are on the fence about going with a scion xA, hop the fence, and go get that car. Its extremely efficient, fits everywhere, fun to drive, impressively roomy for such a small design, and just a really great vehicle. Im so glad I went with it, great first car, looking forward to keeping it that way for many years to come. Ive had it for four years and Im still always happy to see it in front of my house!

Sciontology! - 2006 Scion xA
By Im Still a Believer - May 24 - 12:33 pmAfter 18 months of ownership, this car still pleases and rewards on a daily basis. Gas mileage is a rock solid 35 in town and 40.5 on the highway. Its nimble, quiet and can take on almost any parking space. Seats are supportive. Driving position is upright and commanding. Radio sound quality is great. And with the optional side-curtain airbags and ABS, I have a measure of security.

My xA - 2006 Scion xA
By me - May 21 - 5:13 amThe xA is a great car. toyota lied however! I do not get 31 miles per gallon around town, I get 35 - 36! Not only that, but this car is easy and fun to drive. It has good drivability, handling, and even ride. For $16,000 out the door, this is just great little car. Its comfy, roomy , and has a great interior design with instrument on center console. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Choose Options Carefully - 2006 Scion xA
By tg - April 21 - 12:26 amOverall, the driving experience is a lot of fun as most of the reviewers have already said. The performance and handling are surprising given the statistics of the vehicle. Be wary of what options you pick from the dealer as they drive up price quickly and may not be the best value. More aftermarket options are available. The subwoofer was especially disappointing. It is overpriced at $425, it takes up most of cargo space, and it is way too BOOMY.

I did my homework and looked at the Corolla, Civic and Mini. I felt that for the price and quality the Scion was the winner!

Most of the creature comforts come as standard equipment, the build quality is excellent, and it is fun to drive. The gas mileage is also impressive.

Inexpensive, Economical, and a Blast to Drive - 2006 Scion xA
By Rich B. - March 7 - 3:30 pmJust hit 1,000 miles and one month on my Flint Mica XA and I am delighted with it. I love the exterior style and the stereo. This car came well equipped for a great price. I feel younger than my 50 years when driving it, my teenage daughters friends call it "cool", I keep playing Springsteens "Born to Run" - really loud. I pulled into a parking lot once and a woman had followed me to ask me about all about it. I love the peppy ride, the nimbleness, and the overall look and feel of the car. About 75% of my driving is in the 35 to 40 mph range - conservative driving, so far it looks like Im north of 35 to 36 miles per gallon. Economics aside, my xA is a blast to scoot around town in.

By rodgerterrey - February 13 - 6:33 pmI have been looking for a O.K. priced mpg 2 wheel F.W.D. ...I have had 4x4 trucks, off road "ROCK CRAWLERS" & they all get poor mpg 10 to 13 was best!!!! I have gotten out of "OFF ROADING" &wanted a good ,fun , reliable, car for myself & after much, much, much reserach I bought a "SCION XA" & Im loving it!!!!!! I have found after driving it for 5mo. there is a awfull glare off the dash (after getting used to the speedo location) so I bought a "DASMMAT" cover & had all windows tinted....MUCH BETTER....

By souellette1 - January 11 - 6:57 pmMy sister had this car for 4 years before she moved to Florida, i was devastated when she took her car with her. When i drove it gas was 1.68 in 2006 (detroit area michigan), so i would put 5 in it and drive forever with friends and go see the area. i was only 17 at the time but it was AWESOME. The only complaint is that its TERRIBLE in the snow.

Fun to Drive, Great on Gas Needs Cruise - 2006 Scion xA

RPM at 60 MPH is 3000 and feels like it needs a 6th gear. Otherwise, make sure you order cruise. My 22 year old loves this car. Nice MP3 connection as well. Very comfy back seat, and versatile layout for storing groceries and cargo. Buy it, youll like it!!
