This Year's Model Updates:

A new 3.5-liter V6 replaces the previous 3.0-liter unit. Larger 17-inch wheels and tires are now standard on the V6 AWD model and optional on the front-wheel-drive version. Antilock brakes are standard on all V6 models. The interior has been upgraded to reduce noise and now incorporates metallic and leather trim. The front seats now have seatbelt pre-tensioners and dual-stage front airbags. New entertainment choices include MP3-compatible CD players, satellite radio and a rear-seat DVD entertainment system (late availability).

Pros:
  • Strong V6, large doors ease entry/exit, spacious cabin, comfortable ride, excellent crash test scores, good fuel economy.
Cons:
  • Bland interior, low-grade plastics, inconsistent build quality, noisy four-cylinder, vague steering.

  • 3.5 L. Saturn VUE - Great Vehicle - 2004 Saturn VUE

This is a fun to drive vehicle with lots of power and storage room. The Saturn buying experience and service have been nice compared with experiences Ive had in the past. I have had previous vehicles ranging from a sports car to a station wagon. This one is my favorite.

Owned for 2 yrs, purchased as demo with 9000 miles. The AWD 4 cyl is underpowered, mpg approx 22. Engine strains to maintain speed with cruise control. Car is noisy and has intermittent rattle under rear, warranty replacement of rear drive modules solved problem for a few thousand miles - but rattle is back and dealer can not find cause. Do not like blind spots due to front A pillars. Overall, the car dirves fairly well and has good room for family of four. Luggage carrier on top is easily handeled. Instrument cluster is nicely arranged but climate control buttons are too small. Now have 46,000 miles on car, not sure if VTI transmission will hold up over the long run.

  • Our Dogs Love our Vue! - 2004 Saturn VUE

We purchased our Vue a little over a week ago and we just love driving it. Our three fairly large dogs are in awe of the windows and they are so happy because they can all stand side by side in the cargo area. The vehicle has lots of pep and it offers a very smooth ride. This is our fourth Saturn and we hope to keep buying them.

  • Great Car! - 2004 Saturn VUE

We bought the Electric Lime VUE Redline. We had looked for months for this color. The car is fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. Our car is a pleasure to drive. Handles well on the highway and has plenty of pick up with the V6 AWD. We have never been so satisfied with a car and have hand many offers from people to buy it from us.

  • I just love it! - 2004 Saturn VUE

I wanted a larger more reliable car to drive before my husband deployed. We looked into a few and just fell in love with the Vue. The insurance is lower then our previous car due to the safety features it has, and it is as good on gas as a normal car, but yet has the functionality, space and feel of an SUV. We took it on a 3,000 trip right after we bought it and it was great! We have driven many friends in it and they all are just awed by the beauty, feel and luxury of it. I dont think I will ever buy a different car, just newer versions of the Vue.

  • Very Impressed...but waiting! - 2004 Saturn VUE

This is my 3rd Saturn. Love the looks... Thrilled about the safety features.I received 3750 off of the price of the car and that made it well worth it. Love the Honda engine and transmission. The exterior looks are very stylish. Need seperate trip along with odometer that can be read at the same time. Bumpers need to be the same color. Do not like the exhaust showing in the rear. Overall an excellent vehicle, but I will wait and see how it all turns out! I am hoping that after one to two years this vehicle will be very reliable and trust worthy. I am loyal to Saturn.

  • Best SUV for the money (IMO) - 2004 Saturn VUE

After 4 months, no major complaints. Got the 4cyl, 5 speed manual with Sport Plus package (power everything, sunroof, alloy wheels, compass, RKE) all under $15K. Ample power and accel. with the 5 speed. Traded off getting the V6 in order to have a manual shift. Getting approx 400 miles per tank and about 26-28MPG. Can easily carry 2 hockey players (incl. a goalie) and their equip with the rear split seat folded down. My wife says the rear seats and legroom are more spacious than her Subaru Forester. Love the exterior looks though I would prefer to have foglamps. Cant wait to upgrade the looks by having roof rails, mud flaps, front grill and side step bars

  • Reba The Rabbit - 2004 Saturn VUE

We are very happy with our vehicle. Before we retired, we drove 160 miles a day, to and from work. Reba handled very good on Rt.#95, and we get very good mileage. We found no problem with the steering, in fact we love the easy steering. We actually bought the car in 2002, the first year it was out, right off the showroom floor! They have made some improvements since then, all for the better! We are looking forward to seeing their new "Relay". It looks beautiful. Reba is in retirement with us right now and doesnt get used that often, and she looks as good as new! Sincerely, M. Walsh

  • A delightful change - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

We switched from historically buying minivans to the Vue and it is a great vehicle. Driving in the Vue with 2 kids is very comfortable for long trips.

  • Visability problem - 2004 Saturn VUE
    By -

The front pillar posts are too wide making blind spots when turning. Rear visablity isnt as good as my Caravan or Forrester. My right leg rubs against the center console. The Vue V6 has great pick up, but I expected better gas mileage. It has much more back seat room than the Forrester. The optional floor mats are great in lousey weather. I dont like the self- dimming rear view mirror; it doesnt darken fast enough. Only the dealer can provide an oil change? Come on!
