This Year's Model Updates:

Saturn has upgraded the Ion with new fabrics, improved plastics and a new radio with MP3 and satellite radio capability. The electric steering has been revised for improved feel at highway speeds, while the sedan's five-speed automatic and the coupe's CVT have been recalibrated for improved gear selection and response. Finally, Saturn has installed additional sound-deadening material to reduce cabin noise. A Special Edition version of the sedan provides black exterior paint, distinctive 16-inch wheels and a two-tone interior.

  • Good Commuter Car - 2004 Saturn ION

Bought for my 68 mile a day commute to work. Great gas mileage, fill it up once a week. Good reliability, bought with just over 48,000 miles on it and had to change the bushings (Which i knew when I bought it) havent had to fix anything until about 90,000 miles when I replaced the rear shocks and new tires and brake pads. Cost about $450 bucks. Is all paid for and will run it into the ground. I love the 2.2 liter Ecotech engine. The center console where the gauges are is awesome. It has served its purpose admirably. Not a great car for a family cause there is little leg room in the back but as a commuter car I couldnt have asked for anything better for the money.

The interior quality of the ION is poor. However, the engine runs well, is reliabile, and has fairly good MPG for a small car.

This car is fun to drive and handles well. It seems to me that too many people are nit picking with this and other lower priced cars. For the money, this is an excellent car! I plan on building this car into a tuner. That means new rims, body kit, race seats, interior mods, and engine upgrades. This car was made for this and for people who need a good car for little money. I am very happy with my new car purchase and look forward to owning it for a long time.

I love the car. I bought it knowing it was not a "Diet BMW." If you want a great car that performs well and wont break the bank, this is DEFINATELY the car for you. Also: I have owned 5 new cars and my experience at the Saturn dealership was the best by far.

I drive a lot every day. This has been a comfortable car with a large trunk and the seats are easily adjustable for many combinations, The offset dash is easy to read with controls user friendly. The interior is spartan but not unattractive. Not enough storage space around the front seat and you have to have a lighting package to get anything but a overhead dome light. I have 11,000 miles on it and have not been sorry for one minute. A great little car.

I just recently bought a new 2004 Saturn ION 3 Quad Coupe. Ive only had this car for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. I have a VTI transmission and it is one of the smoothest rides youll ever take. The car is very roomy and very dependable. I would recommend this car to anyone.

I have only had my Ion 2 for a month or so, but so far Ive had no problems with it. The only thing that Ive noticed is that it idles a little louder than other cars in its class.

  • LOADS OF FUN!!!! - 2004 Saturn ION

I absolutely LOVE my ION. Everywhere I go, it turns heads and it is extremely fun to drive. The interior is well made, and it is quiet inside. Handling and steering is up to the par of much more expensive vehicles. Interior legroom is expansive however the rear legroom is non existent so if you have a family look elsewhere!! Acceleration is 0-60 in 7 seconds with the manual transmission, and the car is a BLAST to drive. All in All Saturn has a winner on its hands. And by the way YOU WILL LOVE THE DEALERSHIP EXPERIENCE!!

  • Excellent car - 2004 Saturn ION

Love it, love it. Traded in a 1990 Pontiac Grandam which I was the original & only owner. Love this car more. Peepy engine. Engine feels more powerful then 140HP. Fun to drive. Roomy interior. Large trunk space. Excellent heating system. Enjoyed the buying experience. I see myself in the future buying another Saturn, possibly the VUE.
