This Year's Model Updates:

Saturn has upgraded the Ion with new fabrics, improved plastics and a new radio with MP3 and satellite radio capability. The electric steering has been revised for improved feel at highway speeds, while the sedan's five-speed automatic and the coupe's CVT have been recalibrated for improved gear selection and response. Finally, Saturn has installed additional sound-deadening material to reduce cabin noise. A Special Edition version of the sedan provides black exterior paint, distinctive 16-inch wheels and a two-tone interior.

  • Good Car for the Money. - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

I just bought my Saturn Quad 3 Coupe yesterday and thus far I am very impressed. First off, the car buying process from a saturn dealership is far better than any other dealership that you could imagine. That right there is almost enough to just make you want to buy the car. No pressure, just good cars and good people. Now for the car itself, I am very pleased with. Now not as fancy as some of its competitors, it does give you a lot for the money and saturn has a great incentive combo going right now. I got 2250 in rebates and 1.9% financing. If you just started driving or if your just looking for a fun A to B car, then I highly suggest the 04 Ion.

DEAR SIRS, I WAS THE OWNER OF A PREVIOUSLY OWNED SATURN. I WAS CRAZY ABOUT THAT CAR, THE WAY IT LOOKED, THE WAY IT HANDLED WAS GREAT. SO WHEN I SAW THE ADD IN THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER FOR THE NEW IONS AND THE SALE THEY WERE HAVING I COULDNT HELP BUT TEST DRIVE ONE. I FELL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN. THE ION IS A GREAT CAR. I LIKE THE WAY IT HANDLES, I LIKE THE LEG AND HEAD ROOM FRONT AND BACK BOTH MY SONS ARE OVER SIX FEET AND THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR BOTH OF THEM.THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR TWO CAR SEATS FOR MY GRAND KIDS IN THE BACK AND THE TRUNK SPACE IS FANTASTIC AND THE BACK SEATS FOLD DOWN. EVEN THOUGH I ONLY GOT THE ION-1 I STILL LOVE IT.

Its got the greatest lines... almost like a ballet dancer. It drives super! Great acceleration and pickup. A dream come true to navigate. Sun roof option gives you plenty of light even in winter...helps with those winter blahs. Buy this car and throw out your St. Johns wart for depression. This auto lifts your spirits.

  • Love our fifth saturn - 2004 Saturn ION

We just got our new saturn last month. We love it. It is our fifth saturn since we have been married. We have been married 22 years and have 2 kids. The saturn is not only excellant in gas mileage but comfort. If you have never had a saturn and want a mid sized car then you may want to go to your closest dealer. No car dealership will treat you as saturn with the friendliest,Honest, and Caring Salespeople.

  • Love my Redline - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

I went to my dealership for routine maintenance on our VUE, and drove home with a Redline . Needless to say, I am not allowed to go the dealer without supervision anymore. I love this car. It is quick, handles like a dream, gets good gas mileage, and is fairly unseen on the road. Give this thing a test drive and you will want one too. Just go supervised.

  • Good to us...watch the CVT - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

We bought this car brand new and overall it was a good vehicle for us. Here are the issues we had over 8 years and 140k miles. The remote start from the dealer never did work right. It engaged the PassLock system which left you waiting 10 minutes while the fuel system reset. We had the common issue with the ignition switch replacing it a few times before it was fixed for good. The biggest problem was the CVTs in these cars. They failed more often than they should and couldnt be rebuilt, only replaced. GM fixed a lot of them but ours never died. However at 140k miles it started act up a little which is why we decided to move on.

  • Excellent Commuter Vehicle - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

I am rather impressed with the style and the ride of the ION 3. For a product from GM the ride is very quiet and smooth. I love the center instrument panel. It provides a clear view of the road, and allows me to have the steering wheel at level that doesnt interfere with the view of the instrument panel. Also all of the standard equipment was a big bonus. With the 3 I got the electric moonroof, electric locks, windows, AC, cruise control, cd player , 16 inch tires, and a rear spoiler, all for under 19000. You cant beat the price, plus the fuel efficiency was icing on the cake. I love my new Saturn, and I have received many great compliments on my new car.

  • The New Mustang - 2004 Saturn ION

I dont know what the editors problem with the vehicle is, I find it perfectly fine and people are always asking what kind of car it is. With the rear spoiler she almost looks like an improved mustang. For those afraid of getting lemons, look for a warranty on top of the one that already comes with it, that offers a 30 day/1500 mile free replacement warranty. Where if anything goes wrong with the car that is the manufacturers fault within that time frame, the car will automatically be replace, thats what I was offered at my dealership, not all may do it though.

Fresh off the lot, and so far so good. Had a Saab before, so its a little hard to downgrade on the features, but its a good little car so far... the instrument panel is a change, but not bad. Keepin my fingers crossed!

  • Great bang for the buck - 2004 Saturn ION
    By -

Ive owned my ION for over a year now and I have 0 complaints. It still runs great and Ive had no problems whatsoever. I actually like the grille of my car better than the 05 model. The interior fit and finish could be a little better, but other than that its great. I especially like the 25 mpg around town! A++
