This Year's Model Updates:

Crew cab models receive a standard power up/down rear window with defroster, while all models get a tailgate with dampened assist. Other changes include new active head restraints for the driver and front passenger, new badging on the front doors and a unique wheel finish for SE models. The LE receives brushed aluminum interior trim accents and a leather-appointed bench seat is available in place of the buckets. The popular spray-in bedliner is now available as a stand-alone option on the XE.

Pros:
  • One of the best drivetrains in its class, smooth-riding suspension, spacious and functional cabin, innovative design features, available stability control and side airbags.
Cons:
  • Limited drivetrain and body style choices, no heavy-duty models, burly exhaust note can get annoying on long drives.

  • Nice Truck But A Thirsty Truck - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

Overall this is a very nice truck for a half ton, but at 11-12 mpg its one of the thirstiest trucks I have ever owned. My previous trucks were configured the same with big V8s & tow & off road packages and had better mpg performance. Helping a friend out with a trailer over 5,000 lbs can be a hassle also since the Titan needs a weight distributing hitch over 5K to achieve its 9,400 lbs rating. My tranny also hunts for gear between 4th & OD between 35 to 40 mph.

  • who cares what I say - 2005 Nissan Titan

I love my truck. it has lots of power, easy 4x4 control, the only thing nissan should do is install heavy duty brakes, my rotors were warped after the first month. The toyota tundra is a nice truck too but you feel like your in a Camry when your driving it. the Nissan feels like a truck. My regret was I didnt spend the extra money on the LE

  • My big gas hog! But I love it! - 2005 Nissan Titan

I bought my Titan as a close out from 05. I drove it for 18k when the brakes went bad (total replacement, rotors, calipers, pads, etc.), a silent recall. I pull a 23 cargo trailer daily - seems to do its job well. I ran for a year without trailer lights because no one could figure out what was wrong, finally it was a crimp in the rear door wiring harness (a recall that WASNT posted). Tires were replaced at 28. Gas mileage is poor, unloaded at best 12-14. I love this pickup over all, I find it to have a great stance, powerful engine and really does a great job pulling the trailer and 30 pontoon. Just wished it had better brakes and a few other thing

  • Pretty good truck - 2005 Nissan Titan

Bought my truck with 130k miles on it. Truck is extremely powerful and fun to drive. It even sounds great with the stock exhaust. I like the interior layout. The only complaints are that the interior feels kind of cheap, the front struts are blown, and the rear axle seals leak. The axle seals and the struts are known issues with the Titan and Nissan refuses to acknowledge them as issues even with the thousands of complaints. Luckily my friend is a mechanic and is going to fix the issues cheaply. The struts are $70 each and the seals are only $10. Aside from those two issues its excellent as a truck. We love it.

  • Best truck Ive ever owned - 2005 Nissan Titan

Purchased my truck used with 36,000 miles from a dealership. This was my second Nissan product. Had a Frontier crew cab that was extremely reliable and was the reason I purchased another Nissan. Have had very good service when oil changes and recalls were performed. Another feather in the Nissan cap. Dealership performance is another reason I bought Nissan. This Titan is solid. I have hauled an economy car from SC to MI without any problems. Have pulled my 18 foot boat on the weekends and its pulls like a dream. Use the Titan for many other projects and I cant see myself doing without it. Love the styling and always gets compliments. Neighbor bought one because he liked mine.

  • Bad Brakes - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

I have enjoyed my Nissan Titan, however the brakes are a different story. The rotars on my Titan were resurfaced at 4500 miles and again at 10,000 miles. I have called and complained to Nissan with no satisfactory results. This is a serious safety issue that Nissan will not address.

I bought my Titan used back in January. Before the Titan I had 2000 Silverado. Night and day difference! The Titan gets better gas mileage, has power to give and rides great. Before I decided to buy my Titan, I was looking at a 2007 Sierra. The Titan has more room, and with me being 6-2 that helps. I can put my family of four in it and not worry about how cramped the kids are. I love the seats and the interior, it feels like a truck but yet comfortable. I recently went on a weekend camping trip, pulling a pop-up. Got the same gas mileage pulling the pop up as I do in the city. I also like the tailgate a nice safety feature with young boys running around. Love this truck!

  • It keeps getting worse! - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

When I first bought my truck I loved it! The outside design was very appealing and it was a comfortable ride for being a full size truck. I put a lot of miles on my trucks for work and I was sure that this Nissan would be reliable. But after only 2 months I started having problems...first the brakes and rotors had to be replaced..then the drivers side door wont close on cold days..tires balded after only 7 months..side view mirrors cracked under cold conditions...harness recalled...now the 4 Wheel Drive jerks the car when taking turns in inclimate weather...every month there is another problem. I have been to the dealer service center 10 times since I bought this car 10 months ago!!!

  • Titan "a truck to contend with" - 2005 Nissan Titan
    By -

When applying the brakes firmly at speeds of 60-75 and over mph i felt the vehicle and steering wheel shaking badly. I reported it to the dealer and they did a complete brake system repair without questions asked. Now they work perfect. I have the 2004 crew cab with the tow package, fosgate speaker system that sounds great and 18" rims. You may want to check nissans recall which there are a couple that apply to only a certain vehicle batch numbers.
