Overview & Reviews
Although it maintains much of its chassis architecture, the 2010 Mazda 3 is otherwise an all-new car. Highlights include revised exterior styling, improved fuel economy and power, a more modern interior design and new luxury-oriented features.
- Athletic handling and performance, high-end interior, unparalleled available luxury features, available hatchback utility.
- Ride may be too firm for some, interior and trunk not as large as those of competitors.

Fun to Drive and few faults - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By MikeL - December 10 - 11:53 amAfter driving and owning Vipers and Corvettes I found this little car a blast to drive. Got the 2.5 Sport Touring. Build quality is better than the hand built Viper and you do get used to the smiley face look in a few weeks, great first car for my lucky kid to take to college.

Big Disappointment - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Rob - December 1 - 5:00 pmHad the car for a month and its been back to the shop 3 times to correct a vibration/modulation problem coming from the wheels/tires (which has yet to be corrected). Other issues include mediocre gas mileage, noisy interior on anything but smooth pavement and a few creaks and rattles after only 1,000 miles. The ride is firm and sporty but very unforgiving of bumps and cracks typical of NJ roads. Like a previous reviewer commented, I was downsizing from a higher-end vehicle and the Mazda 3 was the only car that offered some of the high-tech bells and whistles that I was used to. Otherwise, dont expect anything more than a fancy economy car.

Good for what you pay - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By AJ - November 4 - 9:20 pmThis car for me, right off the test drive, no matter how much you try to abuse it, it wont let up. It will adjust to your driving style. I suspect that maybe if I have driven the manual version, then I could have done some real damage, but I didnt get the chance. Anyways, the car handling is exact and precise. The performance isnt anything spectacular, but it should be sufficient for anyone driving aggressively, kind of...Luckily, the car comes with a tremendous amount of features and interior design and layout to make it exciting, or fun in the least. You wont be disappointed if you just want a base car to mess around with, but if you want a true sports car, go for better models!

Great...for the first two years - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By fzyltlsquirrel - October 26 - 2:09 pmI was in love with this car. Frankly, in many ways I still am. I have the standard tranny and love the handling. The car really is fun to drive. Except when the gear synchro does not function properly from first to second. I drive 300+ miles a week, and have since I got the car. We live in northern CA and go snowboarding and backpacking often, so this car gets driven a lot. Even so, it is only 2 1/2 years old, and the tranny is clearly going bad. The worst part is that it is an intermittent problem that the dealer has yet to duplicate. I have 5,000 miles left on my warranty so, sadly, Im trading her in for a CX 5 - which doesnt come with as many features on the manual. Disappointing

Smiley Face for a Reason - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Hanky-pooh - October 21 - 9:26 am1st off,Id like to applaude Mazda for having the balls to design a car that isnt a corporate cookie cutter boring mainstream offering to the 90% of boring humans that are the status-quo! I think the smiley-face grill is awesome and evokes a fun feeling to the car.Im from Chicago, but got a great deal from a dealer from Omaha and drove my Audi quattro to get it.On the way back with the 3,we literally drove thru a blizzard thru Des Moines and we passed many ditched suvs without a hitch! Also, after 7 hours the seats were incredible! If this car is even remotely reliable,Ill consider it the best purchase of all of my auto life...including several Benzs and Audis!Bravo.....go check it out..

Great Car! - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By Draygonia - October 14 - 4:20 pmGreat value and if you can skip the tech package, it is an even better value! Nice entry-level luxury car. Fun to drive, but I would have opted for the automatic. Very, very reliable, very sturdy. I feel as if I can get many miles out of this thing before it dies.

More than I need at below my budget !! - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By TONWAT - October 2 - 4:36 pmThis car has everything I need(fuel economy, fun drive, sunroof, Bluetooth, leather seat) and more than I need (Bose speaker, memory seat, BT audio, Adaptive head light). I was comparing with Mini Cooper, Honda Civic and VW Golf GTI and these cars have some good features, but overall, Mazda3 has better value than these. Plus, 0 down, 0% APR/60 month, no payment until e/April pushed me forward to purchase this car!!

Best small car out there - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By JohnS - September 27 - 8:20 amResearched a TON of other small cars out there including the Fit, Civic, Versa, Corolla, Psion, Kia, Cobalt, etc. This is the only one that offers all the safety features available for under $18K, including Stability control. Great mileage, fun to drive, awesome looks; it literally looks and feels like a baby BMW or Lexus. Its my first Mazda, but so far it feels like a keeper. You can literally option this car out very affordable, but we decided on a base iTouring. the bluetooth phone/MP3 player also ROCKS! Works with my iPhone 3GS like a charm!

Zoom Zoom! - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By ML - September 20 - 2:40 amThis is the 3rd Mazda I have owned, and although its only been a few weeks so far I doubt that Ill have any regrets. I compared the 3 to all its competition VERY closely before buying, and the Mazda was just plain more fun to drive. Most cars in this class have similar features (see Corolla, Civic, etc.) but if you are going to fork out THOUSANDS of dollars for a car you might as well get something thats actually FUN to drive too! Before this car I had an 08 Pontiac G5, and I never really liked it. Right from the start it just had WAY too many issues. (I bought a "NEW" car to DRIVE it, not to make repeated trips back to the dealer for "warranty" repairs!) Sorry GM, but Im done. ZOOM ZOOM!
