  • Almost 40 K on the Sorento - 2011 Kia Sorento

I have the car three years already, on some trips no problem the machine is reliable. Some minor issues: the transmission ( manual) was changed because of a small "click" sound. the mechanic got lazy and after complaining several times (since he said: " the sound is normal") they put a new transmission and when they finished the sound was still there. Took it to another place it was a minor issue ( 30$ for repairing).Just changed the rear pads. hope to keep the car a few years more.

Update: I have had the vehicle for 2 weeks now and over 1000 miles. If you can handle a manual transmission, this is the model to get. The 4 cyl w/o the auto or awd bogging it down, performs flawlessly! I love the hill holder. You will not need awd, if you cannot get going with fwd and traction control, you will not be able to stop it either, in similar conditions, so why drive at that point! Mileage is still fantastic, same or better than my kia soul! My sorento is getting quieter and smoother with every mile as the tires and suspension break in. I drive it like an economy car and get the results. I love the safety features, and all the room.

We have had one problem after another with this vehicle since driving if off the lot! First, the turn signal housing went out completely and had to be replaced. The back-up camera has never worked correctly and is finally being replaced after several trips to the dealership service center. Now, the service engine light is on and the engine is missing out or dying altogether - in the middle of traffic no less! Weve never gotten the gas mileage (not even close) as advertised or on the sticker. Now, today, we get notified of a safety recall due to wiring and possible fire hazard! This is our first non-Chevy purchase and our last!

I love my new Sorento! As of all new models they sometimes have problems, had a recall fix but with no other problems! I wouldnt trade this vehicle for anything. Its so fun to drive and the 4 cyl gets great gas mileage with all the power I need. I would recommend Shottenkirk Kia of Quincy Il to anyone. they are great and really treat their customers from everything to the sale to follow up to service!

Had Kia since May. So far, Its good until it rolls onto any size road bump. Bad noisy, jarring & annoying suspension! It drives nice on smooth roads but you feel every bump to the point that you are shaken up. Camera is irritating, it blocks your vision. Radio power button stop working. Other features are commendable. Had major problems with Nationwide Dealership in Timonium MD. Very long story made short, got a call 3 wks after purchase saying I had to pay 3,800 more for my trade in. 2 mths later, they still have not paid off my trade in, which is now affecting my good credit.

This car handles like a dream. Great on winding roads and great on gas. Plenty of room for my weekend job of craft shows. Through the week, all my grandbabies fit in it at once. Love the new body style. Looks like a more expensive car at an affordable price. My husband even loves this car!

my daughter and I have owned this car for 2 years, both back seatbelts are fraying in the same spots. They said because there are dog hairs in the car the dog must have chewed them. My daughter is a dog groomer, she does have a dog but it would be impossible for him to chew them considering where they are wearing (inside the housing). These are my grand children, they deserve to be safe. they said they are not covered....what the heck!!!!!

Too new to rate reliability. purchased vehicle 01/18/10 so far its been great. I think the interior is nice, love having the Sirrus radio, bluetooth. I think its a good looking vehicle. The ride is pretty smooth, but i agree with other poster could have put better tires.

  • Just got it - 2011 Kia Sorento

FWD LX with TRS, CPK, auto-dimming mirror and floor mats all under 20400+TTL Seems like a good deal. Car performs well. It is much noisier compared to a chevy traverse. Pick up is OK giver a 4 cylinder. Not much more to report at this time.

  • Very poor gas mileage - 2011 Kia Sorento

If youre looking for an 4cyl SUV with good gas mileage, this isnt the vehicle for you. I know it will get a little better, maybe 2mpg, but at an average of 22mpg for mostly highway, best I can get is 26mpg at 55mph, not close enough. However, great price, lots of room, well designed but it lacks comfortable seats. Kia, Im very dissapointed you couldnt get an engine in your vehicle that gets at least 30mpg. I should have gone with something else.
