This Year's Model Updates:

The LX model is now available with a sport package that includes a new five-speed manual transmission, side step bars, Michelin tires, alloy wheels, roof rack, leather-wrapped steering wheel and keyless entry. A two-tone gray interior color scheme is also new, and metallic interior accents replace last year's wood grain accents.

Pros:
  • Great value, long list of standard features, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp impacts.

I have just purchased a new Sorento and I am very happy. I was skepticle of Kia after my experience with the 02 Spectra and the loud whistling noise from my windows while driving but have been extremely impressed with the spacious and quiet interior. Very well built and fun to drive.

  • WARRANTY NEVER HONORED - 2004 Kia Sorento

The vehicle ran great during our test drive, then down hill battle since! We paid cash for the car, over $26K! have spent in excess of $5K that the "warranty" didnt cover...the problems with gas,[do not appreciate the 12 to 15 mpg], the heater or the air conditioner never has worked properly, stalls whenever without warning, all of the mechanics at the "certified" dealerships tell us, "oh, that part[s] is not covered, but you do need another $600.=/- check up!I want a civil action lawsuit brought against these thieves....help me get an attorney to take on the scammers, please. The dealerships and their mechanics are all at fault, the booklet the vehicle came with is extremely misleading!

  • ITS A KIA - 2004 Kia Sorento

A lot of people come up to me and ask me questions about this vehicle and I tell them that its a KIA and they look at it and are very surprised of what it has to offer. I have 5000 miles and have had problems already with the truck. It has turned off on me while driving, the ABS brake lights have come on 4 times and the engine light has come on. I know people that have the same car as me and they have had no problems. I really like this car but I think there are Lemons everywhere. When my friends drive it they are surprised at how well it drives and how smooth that it operates. It also looks very stylish on the outside as well as the inside.

  • KISS MY KIA - 2004 Kia Sorento

its a bit too early to tell...but as of today i love my Sorento! ive looked at literally every car in its class and the kia was over all in every category...comfort, handling, style and price. The guys at Fairfield Kia worked really hard for me to get the lowest price with plenty of surprise extras. I chose the sand beige (gold) really, and I let my husband drive it to work and everyone came out to o-o-oo- h and a-a-h-h-h over it. They thought it was a Lexus or one of those other pricy suvs. Let them eat cake!

  • Solid ride - 2004 Kia Sorento

Our choice was between the Ford Escape and the Sorento. Ford only had a 2 year 60,000km warranty vs the Kia at 100,000km and 5 years. The Sorento had more space for about the same money. Also had more airbags and side crash bars than the Escape.

  • 04 5 speed LX Sorento - 2004 Kia Sorento

Great SUV. The SE (RARE) 5 speed LX model has been nothing but a pleasure. The 3.5 Hyundai V-6 is powerful and has plenty of torque. The SUV is very quiet and has a solid ride. The controls are easy to find and the radio has the power of an aftermarket. The brushed ally interior is a $200 option and is stock on my model along with nerfbars and fog lights. The model I have has a limited slip differential rearend that in 4x4 is nothing but unstoppable.

  • Im Pleased Overall - 2004 Kia Sorento

I"ve had the car for over 5 years now. I wanted to get quality and resale. However, the resale and problems are not that must different than American cars which Ive always purchased. Not too many problems, but, as usual, when taking the car in for the minor problems, under warranty, they "cannot duplicate condition." However, now that my warranty has expired, they seem to find the issues ricght away when Im paying for the repairs. Go figure. Probably my last Kia. Problems included: leaking radiator overflow tank, Air-Bag light, outdoor temperature guage (ner repaired by the way). Gas Miliage is terrible. My wifes Cheyy Avalanche gets better miliage!

Very sporty looking vehicle. It has a strong engine, although it is a little noisy. The workmanship seems to be high quality, and the vehicle has an awful lot of great features for a reasonable price.

  • LEXUS OF KOREA - 2004 Kia Sorento

After reading reviews and shopping around alot I settled on the Sorento EX with the AWD luxury package. When I pulled into my daughters driveway her husband came out and gasped " Lexus 300 ". I said look at the grill. "KIA,oh my god". That was the first of many. This is a solid truck. The controls are intuitive. The sound system is the bomb. The interior makes me feel like I stole the bosses Escalade. My wife leaves her Liberty in the driveway. Nice.
