This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

  • 2003 KIA Sedona, Gotta Luv it! - 2003 Kia Sedona

Already have 3600 miles on it and it is great so far, if I were to say anything outside of great it would be ride over very bumby highways as it is a bit rough, not much more than the Caravan we tested though. Lots of power, trans shifts good so far, mileage is fair and better than stated, about 17 city and 22 to 24 highway, actaully got 27 the 1st trip but had heck of a tail wind across Ohio which is flat so that is NOT to be expected as norm. Radio is fair, better than most stock systems on standard option but not a Bose system either! Overall, so far so good, will report when we hit 12000 miles or a year.

A great ride. This is our first minivan with our growing family and boy its an excellent piece of work!. The Sedona has enough horses and excellent torque to get the job done yet maintains a fairly quiet ride. Handling is adequate for a minivan. The sticker price and reliablility reviews along with the piece of mind the standard warranties offer make this minivan an easy buy. Stop waiting in line for the underproduced and overrated Odyssey or Siennas, couple that with Kias sales attitude from the top down make this the easiest car you will ever buy.

  • Weary at first - happy consumer now! - 2003 Kia Sedona

I recently purchased my Sedona after having several problems with my domestic van (check engine light always on among others) I really was not looking to buy foreign, however with all the options I wanted in a van the domestic models were way too much money and the resale value sucks! Therefore, I made an executive decision to go with the KIA. I got all the bells and whistles and 0% financing for 5 years. My payment was only a slight bit higher than what I was paying for a used domestic van (which no one wanted to give me anything for as a trade)and I havve the best warrranty out there. Go figure! I am proud of my decision and my new Sedona.

We have loved every minute driving this vehicle. Smooth ride with sufficient power to climb the many hills were we live. The seats are very comfortable and their is sufficient head and leg room.

We looked at a Honda Odyssey, but for the money, the Kia had more features and a better warranty. True, I did give up some cargo room, but I need the warranty more.

  • 03 Sedona at 140,000 and six years old - 2003 Kia Sedona

We bought the Sedona because my short wife could drive it very comfortably and it was very nice. Kia 100,000 mile guarantee took care of everything that came up including wheel bearings at 90,000 miles. Now we are having to get the AC fixed for a leak. The compressor is fine. We did replace an alternator and battery. We still love it.

After looking at vans for several months we had decided to buy a mazda van but i couldnt make a favorable deal We have a small garage and it is only my wife and me and the grand kids some of the time.We looked at Kia and we were impressed with it we made an offer and they counter offered we countered and made the deal.We bought the 2003 lx model because of price.

  • Great Value - 2003 Kia Sedona

This van was fully loaded with comfortable leather captains chairs and many other extras available at low cost ($20K). There is simply no way to beat the value and the warranties. I searched long and hard and tried to decide between the Odyssey (lots of transmission trouble), the MPV (well designed, but small and a bit more expensive) and the Sienna (too many$$). We were concerned about safety (Sedona is 5-star rated) and the problems related to power sliding doors (read the Odyssey reviews!). This is a great van for the money.

  • Love My Van - 2003 Kia Sedona

We live in Arizona and have traveled the mountains and highways in our van, with no problems. I always know when something needs attention, which isnt very often. Weve had it now for almost 3 years and dont regret our purchase. The only problem we have now is making sure the doors are shut because the light will go on and the beeping starts.I believe the van is so tight that it creates a vacuum. But I love it.
