This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

The driver compartment is not built for someone with any size to them. My husband is 62", 195 lbs. He cant get comfortable when he drives. He states the pedals are too close. More space on the passenger side.

This van was fully loaded with comfortable leather captains chairs and many other extras available at low cost ($20K). There is simply no way to beat the value and the warranties. I searched long and hard and tried to decide between the Odyssey (lots of transmission trouble), the MPV (well designed, but small and a bit more expensive) and the Sienna (too many$$). We were concerned about safety (Sedona is 5-star rated) and the problems related to power sliding doors (read the Odyssey reviews!). This is a great van for the money.

  • Love My Van - 2003 Kia Sedona

We live in Arizona and have traveled the mountains and highways in our van, with no problems. I always know when something needs attention, which isnt very often. Weve had it now for almost 3 years and dont regret our purchase. The only problem we have now is making sure the doors are shut because the light will go on and the beeping starts.I believe the van is so tight that it creates a vacuum. But I love it.

This van filled the need to have a vehicle that was easy and comfortable to drive, have a good warranty and be easy for Great Danes to get in and out of, providing them with ample head room and plenty of fresh cool air. Its easy to drive, handles well, and has a good solid feel to it when you close the doors. Ride is smooth and quiet, and the multiple seating configurations are fantastic. Kia has provided us with a great car for the money...no complaints here Mike Venezia Jackson, NJ

  • 2003 already needing major engine work. - 2003 Kia Sedona

Our van is less than 6 months old, and is already in for a major valve job. The brakes are making strange noises and dont seem to be working properly. The paint on the roof has major blemishes appearing. We bought mainly because of value and a good rating from Edmunds. You get what you pay for and I have lost a lot of respect for Edmunds reviews.

  • Good quality for price - 2003 Kia Sedona

Kia has come a long way. We were very skeptical of buying a Kia, let alone a brand new model with no track record. By the features offered at the price, and the warranty provided convinced us to take the chance. It was definately worth it. We speak very high of Kia to all our friends, and Im giving Kia very strong consideration for my next commuter car!

5 star safety rating hurts mpg but my family is safe and I have used it many times to home depot and had 10 bags of concrete in it.
