This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

  • MY NEW KIA - 2003 Kia Sedona

We bought our kia in march 2003 and found it to be a great investment. We do a lot of running around kids to various sporting events and driving others in our family to places they need to go. It has a great warranty that no one else can match . I would and have recommended kias to my friends and family.

After 4 months and 8,000km we have experienced no reliability problems with the van.The only irritating things about it are that the drivers seat makes a clicking noise when breaking and that there is a lack of carge space in the back . Other than that its a great van , its very comfortable on all roads given that the suspension is 4 wheel independent , engine noise and wind and road noise are almost non existent unless you accelerate hard you hear some engine noise but its not anoying. Drives as easily as a Mazda Mpv.

Owned since September 2003 and have put 42,000 miles on it. The only time its been back to the dealership is for the 2 recalls. We dont baby our Sedona either. We regularly take trips of 400 miles (each way) towing a 2500 lb trailer, with a cargo carrier mounted to the roof rack. Its a little sluggish going up mountain passes fully loaded and towing, but that is to be expected. Swapped oil in engine and tranny to full synthetic after 15,000 miles and picked up 3-5 mpg on the highway. This van has never failed us, even in -30 degree weather. The only thing I dislike is that it has too much low end power when driving on ice, even with studded tires. Very easy to spin the tires on ice!

  • The 45,000 miles Kia - 2003 Kia Sedona

It appears that KIA products are good for about 45,000 miles. After that quality significantly falls off. At 45,000 miles I had a $1,000 scheduled maintenance bill at the dealer. My KIA Sedona died of terminal engine failure at 79,000 miles. KIA says they are not responsible for the repair. So much for the long haul warranty. Needless to say I will never purchase a KIA or Hyundai brand product ever again, and I will tell everyone I know about my experience with KIA "no service" Even other auto makers call the KIAs throw away cars because their resell value is next to nothing after just a few years. Mark my words you will be sorry for the day you ever bought a KIA or a Hyundai.

Excellent. The kids can do what they want in the back of the car. Me and my wife just talk a bit.

  • Love My Kia - 2003 Kia Sedona

This is the first mini-van we have ever owned. And I love the room. You have all the luxuries without the high cost! We had test driven almost all out there, then this one. There was no question on which one we were going with. The only problem I have noticed so far is a very squeaky drivers seat and I just havent had the time to contact Kia about it. I highly recommend anyone out there looking for a mini-van to go and test drive a sedona and I lay odds you will walk out owning one!

  • bang for the buck - 2003 Kia Sedona

After the haggling, we paid $17500 after rebate with the optional abs and roof rack. How can you go wrong. Add in the warranty and its a no brainer. My wife and I laugh at the Oddessys on the road. We paid $6,000 + less for a very comparable vehicle. The Kia was as good or better than the competition. What some people will pay just have the Honda name, what a pity.

  • I Dream of Kia... - 2003 Kia Sedona

I really enjoy my Kia Sedona, its fun to drive and handles well. The fuel economy is fairly poor, however, the inexpensive price of the vehicle makes up for this fact.
