This Year's Model Updates:

Minor upgrades are in store for the Sedona in its second year on the market. On the outside, buyers will find new taillights, and in the cabin, you'll note a new audio faceplate and a remote fuel-door release. The LX model gets a CD player, while the EX now comes with two keyless remotes, as well as additional leather on the armrests and lower portions of the seats. A trailer hitch is now available for all Sedonas.

Pros:
  • Excellent value, lots of cupholders and storage bins, solid build quality, good crash test scores, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Hefty curb weight, below-average gas mileage, missing a few key minivan features, potentially expensive to repair in minor collisions.

  • Suits us Well - 2003 Kia Sedona

We have owned our Sedona for just over 10 months now and we are very happy with it. Weve had a few little things happen (the cup holder wasnt working right) but that is all. I would say that the Sedona is more truck like than car like. For example, cornering, fuel economy, ease of handling arent all that great when you compare them to a car or car-like minivan, but if you compare them to a truck (why not, they are just as heavy), they seem about average. I feel this is a small trade- for the price (some people may even prefer the truck like feel). In order to pay the same price for comparable options we would have had to buy something 3-4 years old!

A great ride. This is our first minivan with our growing family and boy its an excellent piece of work!. The Sedona has enough horses and excellent torque to get the job done yet maintains a fairly quiet ride. Handling is adequate for a minivan. The sticker price and reliablility reviews along with the piece of mind the standard warranties offer make this minivan an easy buy. Stop waiting in line for the underproduced and overrated Odyssey or Siennas, couple that with Kias sales attitude from the top down make this the easiest car you will ever buy.

  • Weary at first - happy consumer now! - 2003 Kia Sedona

I recently purchased my Sedona after having several problems with my domestic van (check engine light always on among others) I really was not looking to buy foreign, however with all the options I wanted in a van the domestic models were way too much money and the resale value sucks! Therefore, I made an executive decision to go with the KIA. I got all the bells and whistles and 0% financing for 5 years. My payment was only a slight bit higher than what I was paying for a used domestic van (which no one wanted to give me anything for as a trade)and I havve the best warrranty out there. Go figure! I am proud of my decision and my new Sedona.

  • Trading in my Sedona for a Sienna - 2003 Kia Sedona

If it wasnt for those rear seats and the noisy air conditioning, I would keep this car. I cant stand fighting with those rear seats. They are super heavy (if no impossible) to remove and replace. I actually took it back to the dealer and made them put the seats back in. Even the sales guy couldnt do it. The air conditioning is super loud when the car is idling. Step on the gas just a little and the noise goes away. Come to a red light and the noise is louder than the radio. My next minivan will have fold away seats. Im looking at the Odyssey or the Sienna. And the gas mileage is terrible. Maybe 15 city, 19 hwy.

We have loved every minute driving this vehicle. Smooth ride with sufficient power to climb the many hills were we live. The seats are very comfortable and their is sufficient head and leg room.

We looked at a Honda Odyssey, but for the money, the Kia had more features and a better warranty. True, I did give up some cargo room, but I need the warranty more.

Although this is a recent purchase, I can compare it to the Dodge Caravan and by far a much better van for the money. Great pick up, interior design, and size. Although the length is shorter than our previous dodge Grand Caravan there is still enough space for luggage and anything else you want to bring along. Kia has come a long way and this van has proven that you can have quality at a great price!

  • Worth what I paid! - 2003 Kia Sedona

I had it just over a month with 1200 miles on it. Good van for the the price. 50% larger cargo space will really make the daily duty more functional as van. There is a background acceleration sound coming from AC pipe vibration every 3 to 5 minutes when cruising. Very annoying when driving. For such a heavy vechicle (over 4800 lb) KIA should use larger tires than 215/70R15. With full load there is only about 500 lb of safety margin. Sienna and Odyssey has over 1000 lb of margin. Only time will tell the car will worth the money for the next 5 years. I brought the van after I saw many good comment, hope everyone is right about this van.

  • 03 Sedona at 140,000 and six years old - 2003 Kia Sedona

We bought the Sedona because my short wife could drive it very comfortably and it was very nice. Kia 100,000 mile guarantee took care of everything that came up including wheel bearings at 90,000 miles. Now we are having to get the AC fixed for a leak. The compressor is fine. We did replace an alternator and battery. We still love it.

Excellent minivan for the money. Drives great and has adequate room for our family of 4.
