Overview & Reviews
The Kia Optima receives only minor revisions for the 2004 model year. The grille has been revised, 16-inch wheels are now standard on V6 models and the alloy wheels on the EX (last year's SE) have been redesigned. Finally, an in-glass antenna replaces the old power mast style unit from last year, but only on the EX and the LX with the optional cassette/CD audio system.
- Excellent warranty, pleasant highway ride, lots of features for the price.

Katie Kia - 2004 Kia Optima
By la7bird - February 8 - 2:00 amI love this car! I travel significantly in this comfortable, fuel efficient car. It looks professional and much more expense for an economy car.

KIA Optima (2004) - 2004 Kia Optima
By andywy - February 8 - 2:00 amI love my new KIA Optima. It has a ton of features for under 20 thousand. I havent made it to my first oil change yet but I still love to walk outside and see it in the driveway. Its pretty spacious and I love the safety features, especially for my kid. (Child Safety Locks, Side Airbags, etc.) All in all its a very nice car for the price. I would recommend it.

Excellent - Best by Far - 2004 Kia Optima
By D Duke - January 27 - 5:16 pmPurchased this for high miles use and Kia warranty and outstanding value. 4th KIA owned - all excellent with high miles. Have never been left on the road walking by any of 4 Kias owned. Currently own 2 Optimas. Emergency road service excellent when I locked key out of KIA 2000 model. Atlanta rapid response and back inside within an hour. Top ride and good gas mpg...30+. As a Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Chevy, Infiniti etc. owner who loves great cars, this is best overall for price, mpg, warranty, and reliability. On road all hours day and night and it gets me there. Always.

Great Car! - 2004 Kia Optima

Kia Optima: Optimum Protection - 2004 Kia Optima
By Optima Queen - December 21 - 2:00 amMy Kia Optima saved my life! An elderly lady that swore she hadnt been drinking ran a red light on a major state highway. I was hit in a 50 mile-an-hour side collision(drivers side) with her Taurus wagon. The side air bag deployed and cradled my head and torso. I managed to get out of the passenger side door. Not til later did I notice that the doors were peeled outward on the drivers side from the impact. I learned that Kia constructed the door pieces so that upon front or side impact, the doors would not intrude into the safety cage. Thanks Kia! I am know looking forward to another Optima or Amanti instead of a hospital bed.

Stylish but electrical night mare - 2004 Kia Optima
By Happy but nervous.. - November 8 - 2:36 pmI bought this car at a reasonable price. The Interior and Exterior are both in great condition and I love the way it rides and all the bells and whistles. BUT, the power locks LOCKED ME IN MY CAR!!!! I cant lock the doors with the switch inside I must ride with the car unlocked. Not a good selling point. Otherwise I love it but who wants to climb out of the passanger side????? This is a major issue that Im hoping wont cost very much to fix.! KIA please note this problem so future owners wont go through this not to mention how dangerous being locked in your car COULD BE!

Horrible! - 2004 Kia Optima
By Angela - July 21 - 6:33 amWorst car i have EVER had. My 95 sat urn was better than this w/ 160,000 miles! My grandfather bought me a 2004 Kia Optima LX in June of 2006 for my graduation present. I LOVED the car when i first got it. Now i HATE it. I have to change out my headlights at least once or twice every three months. The belts on this car always break. The hoses dont last long AT ALL. My struts are always needing replaced. I always keep up on the maintenance on this car.. but it seems like i have spent MORE on this car for repairs than what my grandfather bought it for. I will NEVER EVER own another kia in my entire life. Stay away from these cares. They are crap!

Overall Good Car - 2004 Kia Optima
By Anthony J. - July 8 - 10:00 amPurchased car in 2005 when we had addition to our family. Looked at Altima, Malibu, Impala & Accord but they were more than we were willing to pay. Some how ended up on Kia lot and thats where the story begins. Took car for test drive:nice interior, sunroof, good power, auto-stick. I was really surprised. I havent had a single problem with it since Ive owned the car besides getting a new battery and routine maintanence. The paint job, however, isnt to good. Car doesnt hold its value.

Good Value - 2004 Kia Optima
By Al2 - July 4 - 2:00 amWe have about 7500 miles on the 2003 which was purchased in October. There were a few things needing attention after delivery but the Dealer has been good about servicing. Its a six, fully loaded with the exception of ABS. We bought because of the warranty and low pricing.
