Overview & Reviews
The Kia Optima receives only minor revisions for the 2004 model year. The grille has been revised, 16-inch wheels are now standard on V6 models and the alloy wheels on the EX (last year's SE) have been redesigned. Finally, an in-glass antenna replaces the old power mast style unit from last year, but only on the EX and the LX with the optional cassette/CD audio system.
- Excellent warranty, pleasant highway ride, lots of features for the price.

Appealing Value, Poor Quality. - 2004 Kia Optima
By Florian - June 20 - 2:00 am2004 Kia Optima LX 4-Cylinder Automatic: Dashboard Rattles along with steering wheel when car is on idle, and this is at only 8230 Miles on the Odometer. Trashy loud Engine, No ABS (even as an option), Vague Steering Feel. One of the poorest re-sale values on the market. Easily purchase the Suzuki Verona over this, its smoother has a comparable warranty and has more features for roughly or the same or even lower price, Korean cars are just not up to Japanese Standards. A Used Camry or Accord would also be smart. Dont let the Warranty fool you, how inconvenient to have the car in the shop.

Nice Ride!!!!! - 2004 Kia Optima
By Greg Burton - June 20 - 2:00 amIve owned my KIA Optima EX less than a week. Love the car, and cant wait to get off work to drive it home. This is my second KIA, first one being a Sephia. I was quite pleased with that vehicle, and had no trouble selling it. I decided to move up. My Optima has excellent features, and I love to look of the car. Doors have a nice solid sound when you shut them. Ride is quiet, and very comfortable. The V-6 is smooth, and quiet. My Optima is very spacious, and easy to get in, and out of. Love the hydraulic lifts on the trunk, and hood. Dont have the old fashioned arms crushing things in the trunk.

Underrated - 2004 Kia Optima
By Insurance Guy - May 4 - 10:00 amThis KIA is very comfortable and has plenty enough power to get anyone into trouble. It has all the bells and whistles of much more expensive cars. This is the Honda of the future. Remember when people laughed at Hondas when they first got here? The Japanese need to be looking over their shoulders.

Kia Optima Best Value - 2004 Kia Optima
By the cajun - April 28 - 10:00 amAfter dealer discounts and Kia incentives I drove off in an automobile with power everything for under $15,000. The Pearl White paint alone is turning heads, not to mention the futuristically designed interior. I would have paid over $20,000 for this much car from another manufacturer. Thanks, Kia.

Very Pleased - 2004 Kia Optima
By billnel - February 8 - 10:00 amLooked at the Optima as a last resort as a more resonable alternative to the higher priced imports and have been more than pleased with my decision. Excellent price, outstanding warranty, and best dealership support Ive seen. You a get a lot of car for the price. I would recommend this car to anyone looking at the higher priced foreign imports and domestics.

Very Reliable, Fun to Drive Car - 2004 Kia Optima
By sdanie18 - January 11 - 3:00 amI was hesitant about buying a Kia, I had originally wanted an Accord but I needed a more affordable car. I have to say this car has changed my opinion of Kia - its been very reliable in the nearly 2 years I have owned it. I purchased the car with 56K and now have nearly 78K on the odometer. I consider this car a lot of fun to drive because my previous car was a 1994 Buick Century! I think if you keep up to date with maintenance (and dont get stuck with a lemon like some people on here must have) then you will have a great car on your hands.

Im a KIA lover now! - 2004 Kia Optima
By Tess68 - November 27 - 5:50 amMy car just hit 68,000, besides a few dings (by others!) I have had no problems, just the rotors replaced. This has been a dependable family car, I drive 20 miles to work everyday through snow, ice, rain, and nice days without a problem. I am a very nervous person on the road in the Winter and this car has been great to me! Starting to make some rattles, and steering shake, I am praying this wont be a problem. I hear after 40-50,000 KIAS are having problems. Anybody out there have any as of yet with this year?
