Overview & Reviews
The Kia Optima receives only minor revisions for the 2004 model year. The grille has been revised, 16-inch wheels are now standard on V6 models and the alloy wheels on the EX (last year's SE) have been redesigned. Finally, an in-glass antenna replaces the old power mast style unit from last year, but only on the EX and the LX with the optional cassette/CD audio system.
- Excellent warranty, pleasant highway ride, lots of features for the price.

This is a no go! - 2004 Kia Optima
By TJ - June 16 - 10:06 pmI bought this 2004 4 banger in 2007 with 33,000 miles. I expect problems (serious) around what? 100K at the lowest. coil pack went out at 55,000. Gas filter something out at 63,000. Ok those are small things. But heres the big thing. I have only 74,000 miles on it and the engine roars at you like the tranny is going. I depend on this car. I need a car. I still owe 6100 on it and it is about to flop out on me i can tell that tranny is going! This car really sucks. I treated it well. Put lots of miles on it quickly, but drove it slow never raced it and still it causes to many problems and way to much stress! Way too Much

I love this car - 2004 Kia Optima
By Dana Masters - February 26 - 10:00 amI love everything about the Optima EX. Ive had a Mercedes 190D in the 70s and a BMW 7series in the 80s and wouldnt trade the Optima for either one. I traded a 2003 Spectra for this Optima and had absolutely NO TROUBLE with it. Kia is a great company and builds EXCELLENT, FAIRLY PRICED cars--- Its a shame America and Japan cant take note of this.

Watch out Nips - 2004 Kia Optima
By MarkinMD - January 13 - 10:00 amI have owned my KIA since 12/31/03 have not had a single problem with it. It rides well, is comfortable and looks more expensive. The fit and finish is as good as anything out of Japan. I dont know what some of the reviewers were talking about when it comes to wind noise. My Optima is very quiet. There are few things they could do to improve the car, but it is very nice as is. My car was loaded with all but leather and the sticker was $22.035. That is a lot of car for the money.

Kia Optima- Not given enough credit - 2004 Kia Optima
By K Nestor - January 13 - 10:00 amBought it for the price but fell in love with the overall quality, design and comfort of the vehicle. Trunk is large enough for a big day at the grocery for a family of five. Leather interior exceeded my expectations for quality. Performance of the V-6 is surprising good, will maintain interstate speed with cruise on with out a problem. Auto-stick shift works flawlessly. This car needs to be given more credit.

My 2002 Kia - 2004 Kia Optima
By Robert Berns - January 13 - 10:00 amI bought my Kia Optima in August 2002. It is the best car I ever owned. I have had no problems. I turned in a Cadillac DeVille 1998 lease car before getting my Kia. The ride in the Kia is comparable to the Cadillac. I am a retired automotive engineer. The fit and finish on the Kia is the best I have ever seen, bar none. I am 62" and I find this car very comfortable for me.

I Love my Kia - 2004 Kia Optima
By Jose Perez - January 13 - 10:00 amThis is my second Kia Optima in the last two years.(Kia Optima LX 02) and (Kia Optima SE-V6 03. Ive enjoyed driving and owning both of them, but the V-6 is definately the Optimum. I like every thing about my car, and especially the fact that its given me exceptional service and pleasure. Would I buy another Kia? Definately Yes. A Very Satisfied Customer

Love it!! - 2004 Kia Optima
By KjunDreamer - January 2 - 10:00 amWe searched all over for a car that was dependable, priced within our budget and fun to drive. We wanted a car that looked good (sporty, yet classy). And we found it with our Kia Optima EX. Weve only had it a few months but so far, we love it. The gas mileage is great and for comfort, its better than anything weve driven in a while. It handles well and responds quickly. The stereo system is awesome with the surround sound. Our next one will be a Kia, as well.
