This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • GreaT!!! - 2005 Infiniti G35

Amazing acceleration, 280 horse power and the sound of the engine and exhaust… Worth every penny. Strong, sexy, fast, quick, reliable. I still dont understand why it is not as expensive as it should be, but good for me. Its been 9 months Ive been driving Ininiti G35 Coupe, and I appreciate each and every minute of it. This car is better for those who know about cars and appreciate a powerful engine. Bose sound system is very good, support suspension makes it even sweeter. This is just a great car, its performance will amaze you. Smooth… For those who know how to drive stick shift and dont mind driving in the traffic, manual is much stronger... I test drove it, and was amazing.

  • Great Car, Lifetime Impact - 2005 Infiniti G35

Back in October I bought an 05 G35x and was a great choice. Ive been through 3 generations of Infinitis and never had any problems. Since mine was bought through an auction when it was taken in for routine maintenance there were all the service records were maintained. Not saying everyone will agree about how great a G35x is but in my opinion a fun & great car compared to alot of the higher end luxury cars.

  • G35 is FUN to Drive! - 2005 Infiniti G35

Just purchased the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe (5 speed/auto. So far, so good! LOVE the look of the car and the looks I get driving it! It handles very well on the road, especially evident on turns... very tight! The minute I turn the key in the ignition, Im reminded of the power (3.5 liter/V6/280 HP)I may as well have just heard the announcer say, "Start your engines!" Interior is comfy, but may be a difficult for someone a bit larger and, unless its an emergency, Id forget about offering a ride to a third person. The back seat is small! The Bose sound system rocks and it seems to be providing me with fairly good gas mileage. All things considered - this is a great car for the money!

  • Love my new G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35

Three weeks ago I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love it so far.

  • G35, the envy of your friends - 2005 Infiniti G35

This car is a head turner. The sport edition has a wonderful growl to it. Power is never an issue. The car has a solid feel. Handling is top rate. I drove a Z before purchasing a G35 and the G35 puts the Z to shame. This is one top rate car. If you are in the market for a sports car but want more amenities, the G35 is what you should be looking at.

  • Fun but problematic - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive had the car for about a year and a half now. Its been a lot of fun to drive, great acceleration and handling. Youve heard it before, the gas mileage isnt that great. We get a lot of snow around here and the all wheel drive has been great. The problems have been in the quality of the car. 2nd day it was back in the shop for a new transmission contol valve (2 weeks). Since then Ive dealt with a leaky back window and now a loose ground wire in the dash and replaced a wheel bearing. Yikes! Im scared about what its going to be like when the warranty runs out.

  • Love this car - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have only put 1000 miles on this car, but I love it. I drove a 2000 Mustang GT for 5 years so this was an upgrade. I have lost nothing in straight line performance and it handles much better. It also is much more luxurious. I think it is gorgeous and the performance is excellent. I am getting daily compliments on how it looks. It also sounds very nice, although nothing beats the old Mustang. The price is a fair value, probably a very good value. I considered a BMW 330i, but it costs more. I also considered another Mustang, but this car is easily worth the extra $9 to $10,000 more.

  • Good, not great - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

The 2005 Infiniti G35 features the feel of a heavy car despite its smallish size, good handling, and comfortable seats that are still too small. The leather is average, the pickup is impressive, the interior is not what it should be for a luxury brand yet not bad, the stereo is nothing special, there is limited amount of space, the trunk is tiny, and the car has great traction.

  • Excellent 2-year old car - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Just logged two years in the car. Thoroughly pleased with it. I looked at Acura TL, Audi A4, Cadillac CTS, BMW 330, and Im glad I went this way. Best blend of room, performance, build quality and features Ive seen. The ride is very smooth and soft over bumpy roads, yet the car handles aggressively when pushed to the task. Minor defects addressed by the dealer thus far (headlight adjustments, speaker rattling, heated seat malfunction, bizarre engine hesitation attributed to bad gas). The AWD is masked by the VDC/TCS; I usually disengage the VDC, but when driving in snow with VDC off, you can easily swing the back around, which questions how well the AWD really works.
