This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • Second time around even better! - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

This is my second G-35 and I love this car! This car is so fun to drive & I love the power it has. It allows me to accelerate quickly when I need the power to do so. It has a few added features that are standard on this model vs. my 2003. I have a full sized spare this time and also heated seats. I like how the car handles and the ride seems smoother than the previous car (different sport tuned suspension?)This car is easily able to compete with the Lexus ES 300, the BMW 300s, the Lincoln ES, Audis, Volvos, Acuras, Mercedes, and others. It looks great, rides great, and the interior is very nice. Love my Bose sound system! I love this car!

  • Affordable price for a luxury car! - 2005 Infiniti G35

I bought the G35X (AWD)with the premium C package for $33300. The price cant be beat for the quality. Nothing about the car felt cheap. Soft leather seats and streamlined dashboard gives the interior a refine look. The 280 hp engine has a nice roar to it. It has a sporty feel and handles well on corners. You can easily cruise at 80 mph without knowing it. The dealerships internet manager told me to always shop over the internet for a car. They are allowed to give a much lower price than the showroom guys.

The Infiniti G35 is a pleasure to drive and maneuver in traffic, up hills and around curves. Also is easy to park in difficult parking spaces. Responds immediately when additional power is needed.

Great car! Watch out for the brakes and driver side power seats. Infiniti seems to be having problems with these components.

  • Excellent drivetrain but not perfect... - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have to admit-I am a bona fide car nut and, therefore, notice a lot of things that an average person would not. With that being said - overall I definitely like the G35. It is indeed a car that is a good value but there is a lot of room for improvement. Please see my RANTS and RAVES below.

  • 5AT G35 Coupe - 2005 Infiniti G35

Even with the 5AT transmission, the coupe is a very fast and fun car to drive. The manumatic mode helps to overcome any shortcomings of having a manual, particularly in heavy traffic. The sport tuned suspension is a well recommended option, the 19" wheels look great and the ride is smoother with this car than on previous models with 17" wheels. Only downside to the car so far is the seats have side bolsters that tend to jab most people in the shoulder or back, but otherwise an extremely comfortable, well built and luxurious sports coupe that you can get for $40k or less.

  • Traded in my 05 TL for an 05 - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

In November I bought a new 2005 Acura TL. It was beautiful inside and out but it drove badly. Torque steer, Brakes pulled, vibration in pedal and steering wheel at speed. I just traded it in on a 2005 G35. I love the G35. It drives properly. (keep in mind I have been driving a Mecedes E Class for the last ten years so my idea of properly is RWD) I find that the G35 drives a lot like my My Mercedes but it has a lot more power and is more noisy. anyway, I love the G35 so far.

  • Sport Suspension - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Wow! Great update to an already exceptional car. If you prefer a performance ride, by all means get the sport model. I had an 03 that was an awesome handleing machine. The standard 05 has a very soft ride...too soft in fact - Beware!

  • Simply Amazing.. - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

If you want a sports car with a luxury feel, get the G35 coupe. This car is simply awesome. It isnt overly common like the BMW 3 series, but it handles just as great. It is very pretty to look, and then again it isnt in the shop every other week like my old A4. My one gripe with this car would have to be the fuel economy, if your lucky youll avg about 20mpg for a tank, compared to the 30 of the A4. But then again somthing needs to fuel that monster. You step on the pedal and your flying, before i bought this car i drove the IS250,325CI,A4, and C230. The G blows all of them away. It gives you much more power(that is much more reliable) then all of its competitors and for a lower price.

  • My love affair is over - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

I love my car. But I wont be buying another one. I had to have my front brakes replaced at 12,000 miles. It was only around town driving and I do not use both feet to drive. Everyone (in the car business) that I talked to said it was crazy that the brakes went so quickly. Infiniti explained that they are softer than other brakes. And, oh well. My dealership couldnt do anything for me and I got the big brush-off from Consumer Relations East from parent Nissan. "They would put a note in my file that I wasnt pleased with my brake situation". As far as Im concerned Infiniti just lost a customer. Ill be looking elsewhere when I buy my next car.
