This Year's Model Updates:

The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

Pros:
  • Powerful V6, balanced and capable handling, roomy cabin, reasonable price.
Cons:
  • Average interior materials quality, touchy brakes.

  • Awesome car - 2005 Infiniti G35

Car was the best purchase I have made. I am 20 years old and previous to this I had a acura rsx which did not have the low end torque i was lookng for. This car gives me everything I need. Performance is great, ride quality, and looks great inside and out. I test drove other cars in its class bmw 330 ci and lexus 350 and both cars just did not but out the amount of power car the g 35 does.

I had the G35 2003 and the 2005 has more pickup due to the new trans. The 2003 had a delay in the acceleration. There is more room and the ride is better on the 2005.

Had twin turbo Mitsu 3000 for 11 years before this. G35 is a sig step down in performance. Like rear wheel drive but tires narrow for weight of car, spinning out too easy. Ext. paint is cheap/thin and chips very easily. Interior plastic parts (changed to alum on 2004) are showing wear even though I baby it, damn cheap stuff. Is this a GM car? Dealer price on Brembo pads and rotors for care is almost $4,000. First and last Nissan product I buy. Next time Lexus, BMW or Merc. No place to plug my iPod, whats up with that? No bluetooth!! Paint on gear shift wore off under hand! Cheap cheap cheap. They lie about the gas mileage, really 23 highway, not 27

This is one of the best handling cars I have ever had. The weight balance , front to rear is aerodynamic, transmission shifts smoothly and it has plenty of power.

  • Great car for the money - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have been driving my recently purchased G35x for a month now. Overall great car but you get what you pay for. Lots of power and smooth ride, most of the time. Beware of the rattles and tick noises. When test driving tell the salesmen to be quiet and turn off the so-so Bose stereo. Listen to the car over bumps and drive it on the freeway if possible. Once a noisy car always a noisy car. I have had mine in the shop/dealer for about a week trying to figure out where all the rattles are coming from. They are almost gone, almost. The phantom rattle in the center of the dash is the most elusive. Have the car inspected by a third party brake guy before you buy, this will save you later.

  • G35 Coupe - 2005 Infiniti G35

Great car with luxury features at resonable rates. The sports package drives tight and responsive. The seat belt is alittle tight across the shoulder but is the only complaint I can find. The new lakeshore blue is outstanding with the larger wheels and tires.

Great Car. It turns heads wherever you go. At last a car I can feel comfortable with merging onto the freeways. Fantastic power and control.

  • Too much maintenance - 2005 Infiniti G35

At 16k miles new brakes. At 22k another set in back. At 23k all new tires. Bad mileage for fuel. Its my fourth and last infiniti. Too expensive to own and run, but a great looking car.

  • Front tires need replaced every 7k miles - 2005 Infiniti G35

Love driving this car, except for the front tire wear. I am on my second set of front tires in 1 yr. Both sets of tires have had uneven wear on the inside treads, about every other 1" of tire there is a flat and peak area.

  • 6 Month Review! - 2005 Infiniti G35

Even after 6 months, this car is still the best buy to be had in the entry level luxury segment. The build quality of the interior has weakened within the past 6 months and there are noticable squeaks and rattles in various spots. Also, the speakers vibrate a lot despite not playing loud music. The interior is very comfortable and luxurious but I am disappointed by the power seat controls on the inner seat because you lose things between the seat and console with no hope of rescue. Still very comfortable on long drives with a relatively smooth, sporty ride. The styling still turns heads when you drive it. Lots of compliments on the car. Fuel economy is consistent at 19 mpg but it is AWD.
