The sedan receives exterior styling revisions with a new hood, grille, bumpers, side sills, taillights and wheels. Sedans now make as much power as the coupes -- 280 hp (up from 260) and 270 lb-ft of torque (also up from 260) on models with an automatic transmission. Coupes and sedans equipped with a manual transmission get even more power (298 hp) but sacrifice 10 lb-ft of torque. Sedans with the sport suspension package also pick up 18-inch wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. All G35s get a redesigned instrument panel and console area with aluminum or wood trim, and the manual transmission has been improved to provide a lower shifting effort. A Sport version of the coupe debuts this year and includes an even firmer suspension, a limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged alloy wheels and drilled aluminum pedals. Oddly, though, Brembo brakes are no longer available on manual-shift coupes.

I got a lemon - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Sam - October 10 - 6:20 pmIve only had this vehicle for 7 months and it has been in the shop over 20 days and counting. The oil consumption on this engine is comparable to that of a 2-stroke engine - one part oil to 20 of gas. The vehicle has gone through several oil consumption test, the valve covers have been replaced twice, the exhaust pipes are covered in black desposit and inifiniti wont acknowledge it as a lemon. This is not the kind of treatment that one would expect from a "luxury" dealership. Do your homework and research this car very carefully, if you do a quick web search you will find out Im not this only one with this kind of problem.

Not perfect but it sure is close - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Gman - October 6 - 6:53 pmAfter 40,000 miles and almost 3 years with my 6MT G, I still love it. I drove an 05 BMW 330 the other day and it certainly was better in some ways but its just a little too bland compared to the G. The tire life and road noise are the only real downsides. Hopefully more tires will become available for the 19" wheels in the future. Need some touring compound tires that will last more then 20k. The transmission was just replaced under warranty because the 6th gear syncro was out. Otherwise no problems. avg 24-25mpg with a mix of hwy and city driving. (the benefits of a man.trans)

GEE WHZ - 2005 Infiniti G35

The only items I would look to improve would be memory for the electric seats and better gas mileage. Beyond that this car is everything you could want, great handling, great power, killer stereo and wonderful ride. I find myself looking forward to go to work just to drive the car.

Fun car to drive - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Jon - October 1 - 4:30 pmI have had my G35X for about 6 weeks now. It is a lot of fun to drive. Pick up and handling are great. I like the AWD. The interior is nicely appointed, and there is a lot of leg room for the front passengers. My wife says that she is more comfortable in the G35X than she was in my Audi A6. THe XM radio and sound system are very good. I have the navigation system/trip computer which I have used several times to get away from traffic jams and find locations in unfamiliar areas, and it has worked well. The gas mileage is a disappointment, but I was aware of it before purchasing. I only get 17.1-17.4 mpg in a combination of local and parkway driving in the NY metropolitan area.

Best Bang for the Buck - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Woody - September 26 - 9:53 pmUnbelievable the amount of car you get for the money. The G35 Coupe has surpassed my expectations. The interior is clean and well laid out and very roomy for a sport coupe seating 4. Drivers seat is very comfortable. The Bose stereo system is crystal clear and also works as an MP3 6 disc player to hold a ton of tunes. The exterior design is terrific. Sophisticated yet sporty. The G35 has the look of a car that should cost at least 10-20K more. Finally, step on the gas and feel the force of your body pushed back into the seat by the the 280 hp engine. Slip in and out of traffic or around sharp turns with ease. This car is the complete package.

"G" is for Grin! - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Jeffrey Miller - September 16 - 4:30 amThis car continues to exceed all my expectations. To begin with, its just such a beautiful thing to behold. I cant remember a car with such great lines, balance, and sheer presence. The driving experience is lustful. The engine howls and eagerly accelerates toward redline. The AT is silky smooth, and the manumatic is easy to use and works flawlessly. Handling is another superlative. I have the performance wheel package (18 inch rims), and the thing seems to be stuck to the pavement. The rims are exquisite in their appearance and quality. One detractor: When you close the door with the window down, it sounds like the door of a 78 Camaro! O.K. with the window up.

Love it - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Malafis - September 10 - 6:00 amI bought my 2005 g35x in August of 2008. I loved this car since the day I bought it. The only thing that I dont like is the brake wear on the car. I learned that this car comes stock with a softer brake pad which results in greater braking power but also results in shorter brake life.

Great Looks, Fun to drive, Still a car for its age - 2005 Infiniti G35
By eiji81 - September 4 - 11:16 pmI bought my 05 G35 Coupe 6spd in Oct 2014 with 116k miles. Before buying this car I looked at a 05 BMW 3series, Honda S2000, and Nissan 350z. For the price range, the G35 has the best value and features. It has usable back seats, 19" rims with TPMS (tire sensors), all power options, and Navigation. Overall its a nice luxury sports car, but at this age and mileage but at this age is expected to have some issues and be a little outdated. I repaired a few things: front brakes, 6cd changer/nav, front control arms, clutch master cyclinder, and drive belts. Maintenance costs can be expensive if you dont have warranty. It only uses Premium gas but I get 19-20mpg city and around 25mpg hwy. Update: During hot weather e.g. summer, the clutch pedal will only return half-way up after being released when youre driving in traffic. So youll have to pop the clutch pedal back to its original position with your left foot. From my research, this is a fault of the design of the clutch pedal and also the clutch fluid line location. I try not to drive my car when its very hot or in heavy traffic (night time driving and highway is fine though). During the winter when outside temp is 75F or below, the clutch pedal is not an issue. On the plus side, the A/C system on the G35 is excellent and always keeps the inside very cool in the summer. The heated front seats are great during winter as well. The car looks great and the exhaust sound is very sporty. The engine has plenty of power and torque for daily driving.

Style, Power, Buzz? - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Boone - September 2 - 5:00 amNo question, the body style is elegant yet understated. This is a good for unassuming people who like quality things. (The Infiniti design team is clearly outperforming their competitors by serving products that are visually distinctive.) As far as engine power, it is a nice feeling knowing you can safely get around just about anybody or anything before they know it. Overall, I feel I am getting great value for what I paid.
