  • Swimming with sharks - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I compared this car to the Acura RSX, the Chevy Camaro, Toyota Solara, and Honda Accord Coupe. The shark has better handling than any of the above. Better 0-60, 20-60, and 0-40 times than all but the Camaro. The ride is rough, and the interior is a joke. The dash is obnoxious, and the stereo system is average. This car is the prettiest of the bunch, but looks arent everything. Its real hard to see out of the right side window when making turns. The mirror acts like a wall. The headlamps restrict night vision. Finally, it has NO crash test ratings. The NHSTA hasnt tested it. So technically, you could be purchasing a 20,000 coffin. Its a risk.

  • Wide grins for me and wifey - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

The wife and I bought a 6-cyl, 5-spd Tibby and we just love it! Its got plenty of power for around town. I mean, lets face facts...where do everyday joes get to use 250 or 300hp anyway? The 170ish hp that comes outta the box is sensible yet still fun. Gotta go with the 17in wheels though. They look kewler and help to stiffen the ride a bit. Otherwise, the car is keen on standard features and the exterior is better than the RSX and not as goofy as the celica. For the money, I feel the Tib fills a niche between bland status symbols (RSX), overpiced and under powered cliches (Eclipse), and over done sillycars (celica).

  • My Tibby & Me - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I bought my Hyundai off the show room floor. She had 4 miles on her. Now, 101,000 miles later weve come quite a ways together. Many memories in what Id consider to be a very reliable car. While "Tibby" seems to be beginning to slowly break down...She has been very fun and reliable over the past 7 years. Id love to trade her in for a new one but sadly they are no more. If youre looking for a comfortable seat, exciting ride, sleek design, and speed this is your vehicle.

  • After my first 3400 miles..... - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

After my test drive, all I could say was: do I want the red one or the black one? One word sums it up: FUN! This car is the most fun to drive of any Ive owned in the last 20+ years. Extremely comfortable to drive, east to maneuver, goes as fast as it looks, gets lots of attention. Only bad part: all the buzzymobiles think you want to race.

  • The last hyundai - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

Purchased the car new and after 6 years have 28,000 miles. During this time the moon roof broke, driver window was inoperative, both plastic door handles broke, paint in a number of areas has faded, inside and out. Now you cannot put gas into the tank without 17-22 tries due to the charcoal canister, close valve and filter canister needing replacement at a cost of $600.00 plus. They were not sure of the price at the dealership. Contacting the home office was to no avail. This will be the last Hyundai I will ever purchase. They are cheaply built.

  • Fun car, hard to get parts - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I just bought mt Tiburon, when i test drove it it had a bad wheel bearing that the dealer replaced for me (cost them 600 bucks)but it took couple of days for Hyundai to get the part to the Toyota dealer. Finally got it home and the Moonroof went out and Toyotas service department being awesome said they would fix that to....on them!at the moment i am still waiting to get my car due to Hyundai shipping not only the wrong part to fix the moonroof but a USED part at that, so right now im wondering if i just got myself into a money pit.Good news is that it is the 6 speed with the factory clutch still (crosses fingers).Only bad thing I can say about the car right now is tring to see out the back

  • Great Car - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

Bought the 2003 Tib GT as my first new car at age 35! Have loved it. Clutch replaced during week 1 of ownership - no problem since. A few minor hiccups - parking brake sticks, stuff like that. I am astonished by the level of service I have received from Hyundai!!! Never have I left feeling like I got screwed. Looking at another Hyundai now. Satisfied Hyundai owner!!!

  • Funnest car to drive - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon
    By -

I was looking at the 2001 Tiburons then my fiance found the 2003 and I had to have it. Test drove the 6 speed and fell in love.... my other car is a 99 solara and this beats it hands down for fun driving. I think I have the only one in my area right now.

  • Water and oil. - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

This car is great for a first new car. It has great looks great handling great performance overall. Car takes corners quick, and has tourque to pull you out quickly. However the build quality is weak. My interior plastic coating flakes apart. It has already been replaced once. Also, while going 90mph, the front airdam flexes alot, and the wheel dam cam apart and got trapt under the wheel ripping it apart. It was scarry to say the least. If you live in the snowy states, be sure to buy snow tires for it, the tires are great for the street, but had NO TRACTION in the winter time.
