The Hyundai cars will not pass OBD emissions test.

The Hyundai Tiburon is an absolute hoot to drive! I own a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, and the Tiburon is just as fun to drive. The car handles well and has enough power to satisfy. The exterior is the best part. The styling elicits questions from the curious. My only complaints are the over-boosted steering and the spoiler. The handling is so good on this car that it is a shame to have such numbing power steering. Also, while I dont mind the spoiler, I think the car would look cleaner without it.

The Tiberon is a fun car to drive and looks great. However, the sun roof is rough - the design is poor and I have had the car in three times for repair. No permanent fix yet.

The clutch on this car went bad after 12000 miles. The dealership gave me a hard time at first when it came to the warranty but they ended up replacing it with no cost to me. The paint on the gas cap peeled and they replaced that too. Now after 40000 miles the paint on the side view mirrors and the coating on my headlights peeled off. Other than that everything is good. I luv the car and I never modified anything so far. I already got 4 speeding tickets since I bought it. I recommend this car to anyone. Buy a brand new Tib!

I have had this car since it was new. I have 174,000 miles on it currently. I have had no transmission issues or engine issues. Have gone thru two water pumps. Two timing belts, one set of rotors and 3 sets of tires. I would say their ac has issues. I had the car in four times and finally at 130,000 miles the regional manager oked them to replace the whole ac system in my car free of charge. I think their paint could be better but I did get a great deal and the car has served me very faithfully. I drive all over the state, thru snow, rain and hot temperate weather. This car has done it all. I am finally letting it go as a baby doesnt fit all that great in it. I will miss my tiburon.

I got the totally decked out Ultrasport 3 pkg. The car runs along side stock Mustang V8s. People love the car and it gets looks. The 170hp somehow rockets this 3000lb car to 60 in about 7 flat. Definatly suprising. Warranty is great and they are easy to work with.

  • Good car but be aware - 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

Car is awesome for the money, but watch out for common problems such as the power windows, power locks, and especially the clutch (mine just went at 41,000miles) which is VERY expensive to replace correctly. Other than that the car is a nice car with unmatched features and a blast to drive. Youll definatly turn heads and be asked "what kinda car is that?" cuz it is so unique. be prepared to face clutch and minor electrical issues inevitably though. Also make sure to have all season tires put on the car if you are using it year round. NOT a winter car!

I love this car! Before I was never a big foreign car fan, but after I saw the Tiburon, I started only looking at foreign cars. I got so much for the price! Everyone stares at the car when they see it. I love the attention!

For some reason, Consumer Reports decided that this car isnt reliable. I cant understand why. If youre not a racer, then youll find plenty of performance under the hood. Shifting has never been an issue. And I have more than once received comments from passers-by about the appearance. Of course, there are some shortcomings. But the negatives entirely depend upon your lifestyle. The rear seat is non- existant and road noise is a little much. As with all front wheel drives, torque steering is an issue. No matter these issues, however, I absolutely love driving this car!

You wont get a nicer car for under $20k. Thats $2-3k less than a similarly optioned Celica or Eclipse V6. And its LOADS easier to drive than the anemic Celica GT-S which requires revving to at least 5000rpm just to get power. The gearing on the 6M is way too short. 3400rpm at 80mpg? Thats too high. That may be why the gas mileage is so poor (but you can fill with 87 octane, unlike premium only for the Eclipse V6 or either base or GTS Celica). The flywheel is a tad too heavy, but Im really nit-picking. I really like the action on the clutch and the shifter. The spacing is perfect. It really promotes fast and accurate shifting.
