This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

I bought a 2005 last month just when the 2006 where arriving on the lot...therefore $21,600 purchase price (+dealer doc & taxes). I priced honda, fords, gm, toyota small suvs..comparing apples to apples nobody could touch the Tuscon without adding another $5,000!!! I was looking for a bang-around car/sedan for the wife and two kids, honda civic =$20K, Accord ex 4 cyl=24K, 6 cyl=$29K..all with only front drive & traction control only (No stability control!) Honda CR-V =$27K - 4cyl. As you can see Tuscon==awesome deal and GO ANYWHERE drive line, cant wait for 3 feet of snow!!

This has to be my favorite vehicle. The only thing has ever been an issue was the noise the ABS system made when doing its self check and that stopped after about 13000 miles. I will definately keep this car for awhile.

I went to the Hyundai dealership to look at the SantaFe, I felt it was too big (after having a Ford ZX2). They encouraged me to try the Tucson. What a perfect fit! I thought I wanted a Ford Escape, but couldnt afford it. After a few weeks & 2 snowstorms, Im thrilled. It has handled great, through wind, snow & ice. The ABS brakes work great, & the ESP eliminates the need for 4WD if you dont offroad. The interior is very practical as well. I keep finding little things that are very useful. I even have a place for my purse that is not the passenger seat. In all, I think Im only going to find more things that I like about this SUV & not feel that I bought it because it was all I could afford.

Went to buy a safe small SUV for my colege student son and ended with keeping it for myself, giving my son his dream 2000 VW Passat that I had for 5 years. Fantastic job again by Hyundai-my wife owns 2002 Elantra GT. But Tucson isnt just for price. It has everything what you need for solid transportation and enjoyment. All this safety features should be in every car,its possible, thanks Hyundai. It drives very smooth, quiet, corners unbelievable nice, 4 cylinder engine more than sufficient, a lot space everywhere. Im 63" and cant complain about space, ergonomy is excellent. Simply I feel good driving this SUV as a car. Advice for parents: buy for kids just 4 cylinders, safe and nice.

Since this is my first experience owning an SUV I wanted to be sure I chose the right one. After doing alot of research, I have to admit I am thrilled with my Tucson GLS. It has many standard features that everyone wants in a car. Most importantly the EBS(helps eliminate rollovers) and the side airbags.

My family and I have owned Hyundai for years and will continue to do so because of hyundais reliability and quality. The Tucson just sells its self do to the standard features you normally would expect from a vehicle several thousand dollars more.

Overall I love this vehicle. Have not been able to get the gas mileage promised. I have averaged 21 mph on hwy. (V6 engine) (although I do have a lead foot) But much better than my Durango I traded. I have been very happy with my vehicle so far.

This car rides like a dream, easy on the body and smooth like a car. It gets much better gas mileage that the EPA number. It has all the extras as standard equipment and is a great small SUV for the money.

Looked at many vehicles in the compact segment including the Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV, Saturn Vue. I was impressed with the initial quality of the Tucson and the features that were included in the base price. But the thing that won me over the most was the dealership and the low pressure, freindly atmosphere involved in the purchase. They made this purchase the most enjoyable of the 30 vehicles that I have purchased in the past. This is a great vehicle and I am enjoying it completely.
