This Year's Model Updates:

The Hyundai Tucson is an all-new compact SUV from Hyundai. It rides on the Elantra platform and is intended for buyers who want a smaller package than the midsize Santa Fe.

Pros:
  • Generous warranty, standard ABS and stability control, roomy passenger and cargo space, attractive interior, standard side and head curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Low horsepower rating, some cheap interior materials here and there.

I just returned from a trip to Washington, DC, 3.5 hours and 210 miles. The Tucson was a very comfortable ride and got suprisingly good gas mileage (24 mpg) at 65-75 mph. Around town, the mileage drops off to 17 mpg with stop and go driving. The cargo area with the seats folded down is big enough for most uses, we just carried an antique dresser and mirror with plenty of room to spare. It was excellent in the 16" of snow we had in January, the day after I took delivery. Im very pleased with the Tucson so far, now lets see how reliable it is.

We really like our Tuscon. Good styling. Fun to drive. Only thing I would like to see improved is more quality and detail on the interior. There is too much plastic. We like the standard features which are extra on other vehicles.

Not only did I have a no-haggle experience from our dealer, I am more than pleased with the overall performance and handling of our new Tuscon. The insurance on this vehicle was right in line with other comparable vehicles and the

  • 4.5 yrs and still like new! - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Still love this car, no problems 4.5 yrs later. Also was the least inexpensive & best bang for the buck when I bought it new vs CR-V, RAV4, X3, Escape and the only one of them that had all elements V6, 4wd, ESP, 6 airbags, Sunroof, Leather Heated Seats, and a 5yr Bumper to Bumper. I was worried at time about investing in a Hyundai but now believe they are a solid value company for cars under $30k. What Nissan and Toyota used to be 20 yrs ago! The 4wd & ease of driving in snow/rain has been fantastic, I will never go back to 2wd. Perfect utility car for daily commuting, running around with the kids to soccer & LL on weekends, and camping. I expect 10 yrs out of this car easy. Fun Ride

  • Tucson is a great value - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

This is the third SUV Ive owned after a Ford Explorer and a Nissan Pathfinder. I am extremely pleased with the Tucson. The build quality, fit and finish, and overall quality is the best of all of them. No problems in my first month/1,500 miles with no squeaks, rattles or anything else to have the dealer fix. The safety features are great to have and standard too. An incredible value.

I just got my Tucson and i love it! I do agree with everyone about the get up and go on it. It could be better. Other then that it is perfect for me. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before this and i am happy about my new choice.

After owning five new american cars and having nothing but problems, I decided to buy a foreign car. Many months of review and test drives kept bringing me back to Hyundai.I am so glad that the reputation Hyundai has put behind them as a cheap unreliable car.Only owning the Tucson for a short time ,I am sure with the quality and craftsmanship that went onto building it, I will be happy for years to come.Take note, another company to overtake American cars...Hyundai

  • Class of Its Own - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

After a year of searching... Needing something larger for my business, switching from a 4dr Corolla to an SUV, my searches for something with equal or better quality for a price that wasnt going to bust my bank account, the Tucson gives me everything the others do, at close to half the price. A Highlander equally equiped had a sticker shock of 34K (not kidding either), was quickly xd off the my list once I got into the Tucson. The interior has that roooomy but cozy feeling. Its solid and drives great. My neighbor is envy.

  • My New 2006 Tucson - 2005 Hyundai TUCSON

Just bought a new 2006 Tucscon, Alpine Frost. Love it! Other drivers stare at my cute new car. Drove my baby grandson, daughter & son-in-law up to visit my elder daughter & family in the Tri-Cities area two days after I bought it. The Tucson drove great! I am very impressed with its stability around curves and the way it holds the road. Very comfortable drive. I havent had a brand-new vehicle since I bought a new 4-dr Datsun in 1965.. This little Hyundai is so sturdy and so well made, I know Im going to love it the more I drive it. Im retiring this December and look forward to traveling between grand-kids... even in the winter! I just dont think you can go wrong with this car.
