I have had this car about a week and love it for a compact. It has more drivers legroom, rides better, has more power, steers better, and just overall is a nicer car than my 99 Civic was. Top it off with a much better warranty than Honda or Toyota offer and for thousands less.

quality of leather poor, color off on driver seat back within three months. replacement has same problem. dealership will not replace again. driver door weather seal poor. wore away within few months. replaced one time only. replacement worn out as well. same problem existed on 2002 elantra. replaced three times before trading car in.too many ordinary wear and tear answers. headlight and battery replaced under warranty. hyundai usa will not help. states that the district manager has last say. gas milage poor compared to other similar makes.

I compared & test drove many many vehicles including the Kia Spectra before purchasing the Elantra. For a communter car, the overall quality, reliability and pricing made this a no brainer. The only complaint I have is the gas mileage during local/city driving. I get great mileage on the highway but the city/local mileage seems to suffer severely. But I guess I should not complain too much because the gas mileage is way better than my Chevy Suburban. I did not get the $300 CD Player option, instead purchased an Alpine/Kenwood system & installed it myself for the same price. Overall I think this is an excellent value when everything is factored in.

  • Practical but not pricey - 2005 Hyundai Elantra

We managed to get the car near invoice price. Ive had it for 1 year now, and it has not let me down. It has enough power to not be considered slow. The fuel economy, while not stellar, is acceptable. In my humble opinion, there is no car in this price range that even comes close.

  • Cant afford the GT, Buy GLS Hatchback - 2005 Hyundai Elantra

For the money, the best car youll find GLS Hatch, hss same underpinnings and stearing as GT. Save the $2 Gs if you dont have it. Get the CD player with 6 speakers & cruise. Get a respecable 28 mpg overall.

So far, so good! Love the car...looks ALOT better than the 97 Elantra we traded in for it! Little funny acting in 3rd gear around town..kinda quirky or something, but straightens out at 2000 rpms. Only 1200 miles on it now, but so far this cars very good! Id recommend one to anyone looking for a smaller family vehicle, without any worries.

We are very please with the GT from Hyundai. We think for the money, it is the best buy in the market. We are planning on keeping it forever and with the 5 yr. bumper to bumper, roadside waranty, 20 yr. 200000 it will be predictable on repairs.
