Cons:
  • Floaty ride on the freeway with base suspension, hard to find equipped with ABS, poor offset crash test score.

The car has great lines and is fun to drive. The 10 year thing is great for us retired folks.......

  • Move over Honda and Toyota - 2005 Hyundai Elantra

I had a Civic previously and like the Elantra a lot more. It has more room, rides better, and has better acceleration. The only negatives are the relatively poor gas mileage for a compact and the rear window fogs in humidity unless the AC is on.

We traded in my wifes 01 Neon, it stunk on gas. We went with the Hy Elantra because of the warrenty. She drives 100+ miles a DAY!! We couldnt find any other car for the price+value+warrenty. Nothing came close to it. All power options+ Sun R, CD, Keyless, etc. Rides very nice, nice seats, nice looks, not much road noise, less then the Neon thats for sure!

Have only had ownership for 5 days, but I am very pleased with the way the vehicle handles and rides..It is a very very good buy for the money. My wife and I both enjoy the vehicle. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone who asks.

  • Test Drive this Car and You Will Love It - 2005 Hyundai Elantra

I just bought a new 2005 Hyundai Elantra GLS 4 Door Sedan Automatic Transmission about a week ago, and I love this car. The styling and standard features of the Elantra rival that of a luxury car, but the price tag is $10,000 - $15,000 lower. It has a lot of power and size for a small car, and gets good gas mileage. I have only had the car for a week, and have been driving it around the city, and have put 200 miles on it, and I still have about a half a tank of gas on it. Trust me, test drive this car and you will love it.

An excellent vehicle. Has a very comfortable interior, with lots of leg room. It is economical and fun to drive. Has very good pickup and many other good features. To date I have had no problems.

  • Consumer Reports - You got it wrong! - 2005 Hyundai Elantra

My Elantra GT is the first Hyundai I have bought after previously owning Hondas, Toyotas and Mazdas. I thoroughly tested the Civic, Corolla, Mazda 3 and Ford Focus. The Civic was very noisy and a mediocre performer. The Corolla was uncomfortable and slow. Both the Mazda 3 and the Focus were better but the Elantra GT stood out, and at a lesser price! Then I saw the latest Consumer Reports annual auto edition. They say "The Elantra is just basic transportation.... but neither agile nor sporty." I couldnt disagree more. The GT handles and rides better than the Accord EX I just sold and is much quieter. So far, the Elantra has exceeded my expectations and I am happy with my choice.

I have had five Cadilacs and now also have an Avalon. The Elantra is the easiest and best car I have ever owned for driving around the city. My wife and I both fight to see which one will take the Elantra.
