This Year's Model Updates:

Honda takes a bold leap for 2005 with the introduction of the Hybrid Accord. Rather than add a hybrid motor to its four-cylinder, Honda bolts its third-generation IMA system to the Accord's already-potent V6. In one fell swoop the Accord hybrid has become the class leader in fuel economy (30 city, 38 highway) and power (255 horsepower). Other changes for the 2005 Honda Accord this year include new wheel cover designs for the LX and EX trims, a new coin pocket design, illuminated steering wheel controls and improved rear styling in sedans with redesigned taillamps. In addition, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags are now available on all trim levels all the way down to the base DX model.

  • Solid 4 cylinder engine - 2005 Honda Accord

Honda Accord is by far the best midsize sedan, even better than Volvo s60. Stepped down to regular 4 cyl for better mileage and no regrets.

  • A PLEASANT SURPRISE - 2005 Honda Accord

I am very pleased with my purchase of the 2005 Honda Accord. In my vehicle search, Honda was not my first my choice. I was in desperate need of a vehicle, and needed something I could rely on. I dont consider myself a basic person, but in my mind, that is what Honda represented. Boy! was I wrong. I was really impressed with the features and the style of the vehicle. The navigation system has helped me find my way on numerous occasions (a must if you can). I love the satellite radio, and I never listen to local stations anymore. My Accord has handled really well in the snow, when other more expensive cars have failed. All that I can say is that this is a purchase that I am glad I made.

  • Far from excellent - 2005 Honda Accord

What a let down for Hondas top model! The engine performance is excellent and fuel economy very good for a V6 but the rest of the package is less than outstanding. The leather interior is not very comfortable, seats slippery not soft, like the vinyl in dads old Chrysler. Interior heats up quickly in the sun the AC cant cool it down fast enough. Windows squeak and rattle in the tracks and the dash & console are full of annoying squeaks (made worse in the cold). Thank God for the stereo to drown it all out but forget about talking to anyone. ABS chatters over the smallest bumps and road noise is prominent, even with the factory undercoat. Too many blind spots from big pillars.

Ive had my Accord for almost 5 months. I must say that I like the car a lot. It does everything well, but nothing extraordinary. Its peppy, has great looks (inside and out); is comfortable; reliable; great value; but a boring driving experience. Its a perfect car to get you to/from in style, knowing the end result will be a car with great resale value; low insurance costs; good safety record; and very good gas mileage. Its a buy.

  • Started out great, rattles now - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Great car when first purchased, but interior rattles and questionable brakes have removed most hope of this being a longterm car. The car was delivered with 5 defects, most which were fixed. Included, bent left rr dr window sill seal, buzzing drivers arm rest, defective drivers door speaker, buzzing sunglass holder and a visible paint flaw in the hood. Two new rattles have shown up since then. The area aft of the sunroof on passengers side(sounds like two pieces of metal) and a popping sound from the A pillar at the dashboard. After 4 visits to the dealer the problem still persists. The brakes on this car do not modulate well when first starting out, almost like an on off switch

  • Hesitation when accelerating - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

This car is just okay. My Toyota Sienna had better & more features, but I no longer needed a van. The worst thing about this V6 Accord is the acceleration. When I press on the gas, I expect a car to go. But just when I need to accelerate to get into a tight spot on the freeway and I "punch it", it hesitates. That hesitation has caused many near misses.

  • Nice Car - 2005 Honda Accord

went from truck to this car, ride is great, acceleration is super Most fun Ive had driving in years. Front seat heater switches should be moved, always being put on accidently Thats my only complaint. Great car

  • Feel like driving offroad - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

From experience, brakes with tranny and ABS on this car make something hard to control. For example, when I drive at 60 mph and need to slow down to 20 mph fast, I press brakes moderately and feel tranny first gear down and RPMs go up, then it suddently drop the RPMs and feel like stalling out for a fraction of a sec, becoming really shaky, while gas pedal feel solid and hard to move. Then I press the gas pedal slowly for 1 sec, the tranny switches the gear up very rough, and after I release it, gets even worse, creating a clattery vibration in the cockpit. It seems that tranny confused which way to shift, and keep on clattering back and forth until I go faster.

  • First 4-Door - 2005 Honda Accord
    By -

Took possession of my new Accord on Christmas Eve. I wanted a change from my unreliable VW 2door. I had been very impressed with the navigation and sound system in a friends TL and realized I could have almost all the same features at a much lower price in the Accord. It has a powerful V6, with decent mileage to boot. Plenty big enough cabin/trunk space and just about every feature I could ask for in a car. This particular model must not be too popular, as the dealer had a hard time tracking down an EX-V6 with Navi. Foglights and rear lip spoiler added just the right touch.
