Overview & Reviews
The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.
- Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
- No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

my Mustang - 2006 Ford Mustang
By juan f bermudez - July 9 - 1:43 pmI have put only 1100 miles on a coupe GT Premium. I can not stop driving; it is the best "bang for you dollar" in the market. Solid suspension comfort, power and great driving. Ford is getting the hang of what we want!

2006 Mustang GT - 2006 Ford Mustang
By MIKE D - July 3 - 5:46 amBig bang for the buck. Roomy enough for two and space for luggage. Great styling inside and out. Constantly get positive comments on redfire color and 20" wheels and tires. Great handling and breaking. Acceleration is great and lays rubber on command. Great rumble from dual exhausts--may upgrade to Ford racing exhaust. Worth every penny of $31,000 price tag!

GT Premium Coupe, Automatic - 2006 Ford Mustang
By TNCPA - June 25 - 1:13 pmAs a senior owner who bought and kept a disappointing Infiniti G35 Coupe for only two months, this Mustang is much more than I expected. Excellent, sporty ride, quiet (when you want it to be), and great handling. Very responsive powertrain and a bargain for less than $30k. Redfire metallic with parchment leather is a striking combination.

The Ultimate Mustang - 2006 Ford Mustang
By wolverine - June 11 - 5:30 pmThis is my third Mustang (84 GT, 90 GT convertible) and this is, without question, the quintessential Pony Car. At 47, I was ready to settle down and purchase an Accord or Toyota. Glad I didnt. You cant get more bang for your buck. And if you dont drive like a madman, you can get decent gas mileage (Im currently averaging 20.6 mpg - city and highway). Ford, you hit this one outta the park!

THE BEST CAR I HAVE EVER BOUGHT - 2006 Ford Mustang
By stangster - June 3 - 9:00 pmI cant say how much I absolutely love driving this car. I bought my 2006 Mustang GT in May of 2006 and could not be any happier with my purchase. You can immediately feel the power of the 4.6 liter engine and trust me this car gets everyones attention. I would recommend this car to anyone hands down!

2006 V6 Coupe Premium + Options - 2006 Ford Mustang
By dmbandTX - May 25 - 11:32 amI have owned 3 mustangs recently a 2002 V6, a 2004 anniversary V6, and my current 2006 V6 coupe. The 2006 is by far the best of the three Ive owned. The sleek exterior reminiscent of the fastback look and retro interior are much preferred to the builds in the first half of the 2000s. My model is a torch red 5 speed manual which shifts much smoother than the previous vehicles. Options include all the V6 premium additions plus Pony Package (fog lamps / upgraded grill are sporty). The interior has a limited dark charcoal all leather finish, and the dash is upgraded to include the multi-function display below the speedometer and SHAKER-1000 Audio - much improved over previous MACH systems

V6 is fast enough - 2006 Ford Mustang
By lmmmmm - April 24 - 10:23 amI went with the V6 instead of the V8. Glad I did. Its plenty zippy, Im at 40mph before I know it. After 3 days everything feels solid and no rattles or squeaks. Definitely get the Pony Package. Drives very well. I test drove both the manual and automatic. I went with auto only because Im tired of shifting in traffic everyday. But manual definitely more fun and in my opinion the exhaust sounds more throaty. Maybe because you can really wind the gears more than the automatic.
