This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

Have only driven the car 1,000 miles since purchase in March but very satisfied with its overall quality and speed. The Mustang is a great sports car buy for the money spent compared to others.

  • Not Very Reliable! - 2006 Ford Mustang

I love my Mustang but I have had so many problems with it I wish I could get rid of it! The first problem was the rear end started leaking at 2,000 miles, fixed. Hood insulation started burning at 2,500, fixed. Trunk popped on its own, fixed after 3 dealer visits. No start or die at idle, dealer cant find a problem. Mustang stripes below doors bubbled up, not fixed! Two weeks ago my car totally died, after fighting with Corporte Ford a week they let the dealer look at it, ignition coil pack fell off, yeah fell off, how in the hell! Car still dies and trembles hard at low RPMs! Oh to top it off Ford gave me a Chevy Cobalt to drive while they fixed mine...Id buy a Cobalt, thats the truth!

Have had this car for 2 months and every day I like it more. The retro styling won me over the first time I saw one. 6 cylinder 5 speed fun to drive - wish gas mileage was better but thats mostly my fault. Very comfortable to drive but this is not for someone who actually wants to put passengers in the back seat, unless all four of you are short.

This car has been everything I expected and so much more! Drives so smooth and tight yet quick off the line. A real head turner wherever I go. This is the return of the muscle car at its best!

Couldnt wait for the Camaro so I bought a Mustang GT convertible. I am not greatly impressed with the 300 HP. I would have bought a Shelby except for the $25K upcharge

  • Awesome Stang - 2006 Ford Mustang

Ford has a winner. It brings back memories of my first car, a 65 Mustang. This is by far the greatest car I have owned. The ride is far better than I expected, very comfortable and no fatigue. Its a thrill to drive. My commute to work is a blast. The gas mileage is acceptable for a V-8. Im averaging 23.5 mpg and thats not babying the car either. The 5 speed manual transmission is smooth with a lot of torque. Really sets you back in the seat. The car loves to go fast, its performance is awesome. I get compliments all the time about the styling of this car. All in all it is a great ride, fun to drive, great performance and a real head turner to boot. Awesome Stang.

  • Who says you cant go back? - 2006 Ford Mustang
    By -

Purchased the car privately about 6 weeks ago, and have had a blast with it since! A few road trips, taken my 2 boys and their friends for rides, just a real fun experience. Ive had about a dozen cars (and even a few trucks) revving engines and wanting to race. Also had lots of comments on the "nice ride", one fellow with a PT cruiser convertable even made an offer to buy it at a stop light! I had a 77 Cobra back when, and I have to admit you really can go back with this car. If you want to have fun, you cant really go wrong with this ride.

I really liked this car. Great handling, good HP, good torque, comfortable, sounds great and its pretty good on gas. No real complaints here.

  • 05 GT Convertible - 2006 Ford Mustang
    By -

As a long time Mustang owner and lover, the new GT convertible is a perfect blend of the old and the new. The styling is undeniably Mustang and the modern components make it a safe, fun car to drive. The convertible is built from the ground up as a convertible and the car handles like a coupe. For a potent, fun to drive car with solid performance and build quality - the original pony car rocks!

  • Beautiful car, worth every penny - 2006 Ford Mustang

This is easily one of the best looking and best performing stock Mustang GTs Ford has ever made. The looks you get in this car, and the sound of one roaring by you is breathtaking. With a 0-60 in the 5.1 (manual) / 5.2 (automatic) ranges, it easily blows out most competition in its class and some out of its class. this car gives 80,000 Porsches a run for their money! For 26 grand, its a steal.
