This Year's Model Updates:

The new model year brings a handful of changes for the Mustang. V6 models can now get the Pony Package, which includes an upgraded suspension with larger stabilizer bars, 17-inch wheels, ABS, traction control, foglamps and unique trim. The GT gains two additional wheel options, both 18 inches in size, complemented by unique suspension tuning. An additional darker aluminum interior trim upgrade package is now available.

Pros:
  • Solid V8 power in GT models, about as well mannered as a car with a solid-axle rear suspension can get, slick retro interior, good cabin ergonomics.
Cons:
  • No side curtain airbags or stability control, seats could use more lateral support, low-grade interior plastics.

I have had many muscle car convertibles in the past and didnt realize how much I missed them until I took the Mustang for a test drive. The old cars, especially with the prices they are currently demanding, dont have anything on this car. The ride, handling and performance are awesome and I wouldnt even think twice before making a cross country trip with this car. Unfortunately I live in the great white north so my baby is put away for the winter. But since I put it away I have been busy installing the Ford Racing power pack, cant wait to drive it with the 325hp I will have in Spring!

While I just bought this Mustang it is certainly not my first. However this is the first to capture the look at feel of the first generation Mustangs. My 2006 brings back the fun and excitement I remember having when driving my 67 stang during my high school days. I actually look forward to driving to work. The car handles well and even though it is just a V6, it has plenty of power. The styling is great. The interior reminds be a lot of my old 67. I only have two complaints. First the passenger seat is too low. Second it is hard to see the end of the hood but then it was on the 67 as well.

I am a Ford/Lincoln Mercury Tech for 38 years. I have owned three Lincoln Mercury MK-VIII s and compared to this Mustang, Ford missed the mark . The handling is not near as good compared to the MK-VIII. I have taken curves on a every day basis at high speeds and the Mustang will feel loose in the rear end. This is due to the live axle. The Mustang is a fun car and quick, but would have better handling with an independent suspension. But all in all this is a very fun car to drive for a 58 year old young man. Note - the Mustang will pass just about everything except a GAS STATION.

I love the car. I got the California package. It comes with racing stripes. The color is tungsten grey. It has GT shocks. I wish it had the dual exhaust system. Im thinking about upgrading the engine. I wanted to add about 330hp; I would probably add a supercharger.

This redesigned Mustang is the most enjoyable car Ive ever driven. It is responsive and handles very well while providing a much improved ride. A joy to own and drive.

Finally bought a car I actually wanted. I lost sleep the 2 days before I picked it up from the dealer. I am still finding myself wanted to go to the store so I can drive it. I even told the wife we need to move further from my work so I can drive it more. I am still getting the occasional "Nice Mustang" when I park it near people. The down side is I have to be selective where I park. I love the sound (engine & Shaker 500). It is sharp inside and out. I was even surprised with the trunk space, bigger than I thought. Love this car!

I pick it up 2 weeks ago and Im loving it. I traded my 03 GT and have no regrets. The retro body style is way cool and the V8 3V engine is very nice. The only thing that Ford needs to improve on is the throttle response but that will be fixed as soon as I get the aftermarket upgrades.

The car drives like a big heavy American car. Nostalgia like a Moms car but is hot and sharp at the same time. It feels very safe and is exciting the way it holds the road and has pick up like most V8s. The dash could be a little more Mercedes-ish but I like the chrome and design. Great speakers and upgraded music system. Pretty bad on fuel economy.

What a great car! Tons of speed, a roomy interior, great sound system, and good mileage. The convertible top is a cinch to operate. And the car is a real head-turner! Expect to get a lot of attention when youre driving one of these.

Fell in love with this Mustang style when I first saw it last year. It is about time Ford got it right with the car. Has the speed I need, even though it is a 5 speed stick. Brakes great, handles very well. I can get my wife and the two kids in the car fairly easy. I dont think 4 grown adults would fit in it easily though. But this isnt a family car anyway, its just for the kid in me. Im glad I waited till the 06 model. Some of the safety things that didnt come standard in the 05, do in the 06. Like the ABS system and the traction control. Got the interior upgrade, and so glad I did. Everyone thinks it looks sharp, and I will have it my entire lifetime.
