This Year's Model Updates:

Arriving in 2003 for the XLT supercab styleside configuration is the Heritage Edition, which includes 17-inch wheels, a chrome cab step and various stylistic flairs such as a black bedliner, a lower valance, paint striping and a paint scheme with a raised cut-line. Also new is an STX edition for the XL- and XLT-trimmed regular and supercabs that includes an MP3 player combined with a monochromatic color scheme and clear lights, among others. Upgrades for the fancy King Ranch flavor consist of fake wood for the interior, lighted step bars and an in-dash six-disc CD changer. For the Lariat, expect a standard rear window defroster and a Pioneer CD and cassette system (the latter is also newly available on the XL and XLT). Harley-Davidson models have the option of getting a two-tone black-and-silver paint. Finally, a new LATCH system helps you tie down the kiddie seats properly.

Pros:
  • Wide range of configurations and features, capable powertrains and suspension, attractive styling inside and out.
Cons:
  • Poor IIHS crash test result, everybody and his brother has one.

The 4.2 Liter has some guts but not quite like the 300 ci inline 6 cyl. However, it has done everything Ive asked of it including pulling 2 very large Quarter Horses in a 3000 lb. trailer. Off-road this truck will go almost anywhere and I mean anywhere- very impressive.

  • finally I listened to the family - 2003 Ford F-150

Awesome, this truck is every mans dream if he wants a truck plus luxury. I have the 5,4L engine and it is very responsive and moves out fast. The ride is unmatched, I drove all models and traded a 97 dodge. The room in the back seat is unmatched, a friend is 64 and had plenty of legroom with the front seat back. My family loves it, especially the kids who now have a full window to look out and cup holders that actually hold a real drink in place. I took my new Ford to the Dodge dealer and he couldnt come close to matching luxury and price. Now I can honestly say all the men of the family own Ford trucks and will never buy anything else!

Fun and exciting vehicle to drive. Prefer Charcoal Grey over prevoius 01 Red. Good move by Ford to up payload capacity. Have had problems with Ford Tonneau cover on 03 model. In my opinion, will always be better looking than the Dodge or Chevrolet, based on what I have seen.

  • good truck for the family but bad gas mi - 2003 Ford F-150

Ilike the truck overall but the power when towing is a little low and the gas milage is horrible. 16 mpg un loaded 11 when towing a lite trailer. on the freeway. 5.4L motor 3.55 RR. I am 6-2" and the inside fits me great. the truck dynos at the rear wheels hp 185@4051 rpm / tq.258@3323 rpm.

I love this truck!,from its sports car handling to its Supercharger g-force acceleration,to its special exterior looks that says Im not your regular F-150 you wanna race ? It is a lot of fun,Im glad a went ahead and bought it after looking at them for three years,Plus it seems I get that extra special greeting when I arrive at the dealership for an oil change...

  • Hard Seats - 2003 Ford F-150

Enjoy everything about this truck except those hard unforgiving seats. My Mercury Mountaineer was like sitting on an easy chair but this pickup is like sitting on a board. Everything else great.

  • Forget Chevy...buy this truck - 2003 Ford F-150

Very roomy and comfortable. The ride is so smooth that it feels like a luxury car, which surprised me when I first test drove it. Having a V -8 4.6L engine I really thought there would be an increase in cab noise, but there was none. The gas mileage is not too terrible, it is about the same as my old 2000 Chevy S-10. Overall I am very satisfied with my truck and would suggest it to anyone.

  • Favorite vehicle ever! - 2003 Ford F-150
    By -

I got this truck mainly because of the looks and the deal I got. I couldnt be happier. Never a problem with it! Oh, the looks I get. I love the FX4 package. 4X4 works perfectly. Never been stuck in mud or snow. Takes off great and the brakes are the best. The best vehicle I ever had! I will never get rid of it, unless totaled. Then Ill have to get another one.
