This Year's Model Updates:

Arriving in 2003 for the XLT supercab styleside configuration is the Heritage Edition, which includes 17-inch wheels, a chrome cab step and various stylistic flairs such as a black bedliner, a lower valance, paint striping and a paint scheme with a raised cut-line. Also new is an STX edition for the XL- and XLT-trimmed regular and supercabs that includes an MP3 player combined with a monochromatic color scheme and clear lights, among others. Upgrades for the fancy King Ranch flavor consist of fake wood for the interior, lighted step bars and an in-dash six-disc CD changer. For the Lariat, expect a standard rear window defroster and a Pioneer CD and cassette system (the latter is also newly available on the XL and XLT). Harley-Davidson models have the option of getting a two-tone black-and-silver paint. Finally, a new LATCH system helps you tie down the kiddie seats properly.

Pros:
  • Wide range of configurations and features, capable powertrains and suspension, attractive styling inside and out.
Cons:
  • Poor IIHS crash test result, everybody and his brother has one.

  • best truck out there. - 2003 Ford F-150

I coould not ask for much more out of a truck. It is a blast to drive. Quiet and smooth. The only thing I would improve on is the gas mileage, at 1.70 a gallon it is punching through the wallet quick. Great truck

I really love this truck . I traded in my 98 dodge with a 318 V8..This 5.4 liter has so much more power and the transmission is smooth as silk when changing..The Dodge always seemed to be in a strain, especially going up and down hills. And the transmission was jerkey.. The cabin is solid and rides good for a 4x4. Buy the cloth seats. the leather ones are like rocks.

Love the truck. Simple, fun to drive, and works for me. Looking for an all- around truck, 2WD, extended cab, for the family, cant do any better.

My first nice vehicle. I went all out and got most options. The truck is beautiful inside and out. Roomy, comfortable ride. Heated leather captain chairs are very nice. I was a little weary buying an American truck because of all the stuff you hear about poor quality, but I must admit Im very impressed. Although its big it is easily maneuverable and the visibility is good. No blind spots. Rides up nice and high. After more than a year I still enjoy walking out to my truck every morning. Gas is pricey, but if you can afford to buy the truck chances are good that you can afford the gas.

  • Great Harley - 2003 Ford F-150

Have had the Harley for 11 months and love it. My wife likes it more than I. Great comfort and power. Im 62 years old and I have never had as many eyes checking out a vehicle as this one gets. We have owned four c-5 corvettes and only my wifes(yellow) vette gets more attention.

  • CLASSIC AMERICAN MUSCLE - 2003 Ford F-150

For a long time now Ive always wanted a performance vehicle with the capabilities of yesterdays muscle cars like the Chevy Chevelle, Pontiac Trans Am, and all of those mean Mopars. Well, the SVT Lightning is it! Its totally freakish when you get on the gas at say 50mph and before you know it youre leaving traffic behind as if they have stopped and started backing up!

  • Best Truck Ive owned - 2003 Ford F-150

I have the 5.4 Litre and have found that it has incredibly power. This truck makes heads turn as you drive down the road. I really have a hard time parking the vehcile for the night. Most of my friends that are Hard core chev owners are really having a second look. When I was shopping for a truck I compared all trucks and I just kept going back to this one and Im really happy I did.

I have the vehicle for almost a year now. I had the Sport Trac before and did my homework to see the benefits of ownership of this truck. With kids and space availability, Id have to say this is definitely an improvement. I also have motorcycles to haul and this is no problem with the amount of power under the hood. I have done upgrades to the powerplant as well. The truck is heavy compared to others but you can feel the design that went into this product. Ford spared nothing when building the vehicle. There is every option you may want when buying this and really no options to purchase since it is integrated.

This vehicle is very fast and sturdy. I feel very confident to "pull up" next to a high performance car at a red light.
