This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

OK!! Way underpowered. Needs at least 75 more horsepower and a 5 or 6 speed transmission. 4300 pound vehicle, need I say more. AWD is wonderful. Have never hydroplaned one time in Houston rain. Actually from Detroit but the vehicle hasnt seen snow yet. Mileage is below what I would like to have. Actual 16 and 20.5. Would sincerely consider another one. Rear visibility badly compromised.

Loved the vehicle when we first got it. It is a great road car and fun to drive. The problems are the dealership and the car company. The unit has experienced electrical system problems and been back four times. the dealership failed to address the issues and told my wife to drive the car with a bad alternator because they were on national backorder. When we complained they fixed it. When we filled out the customer survey the dealership employee literally attacked my wife on her next warranty visit. Chrysler was notified and did nothing. Wont buy another Chryser product

  • My wife & I both have 2005 Pacificas. - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

My wife & I leased two 05 Chrysler Pacificas in Feb. 2005. My wifes car is FWD and mine is AWD. Both are Touring Models. The cars are fun to drive. They hold the road well in all weather conditions. They drive more like a car than a Suv or Mini-Van. I feel my AWD model is a little underpowered off the line, but it does well in passing situations on the highway. My wife and I both have approximately 8,000-9,000 miles on our cars. Her FWD model is doing much better on gas than my AWD model. My wife is averaging 18.9 mpg combined city/hwy. As were Im only averaging 13.5 city/hwy. Both cars have been in the shop for a safety recalls. My AWD model had control module replaced affecting the A/C

  • Better than a minivan - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

If youre tired of driving a minivan the Pacifica is an excellent choice. Nice to drive. If you only need seating for 6 occasionally this vehicle is for you.

  • sporty wagon with european suv style - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I was drawn to this vehicle after owning the Volvo S80 T6 sadan. I was tired of the expenses involved with the up keep and repairs of European cars, but I love their style. I was happy to find what I was looking for in an "American" car. Style, room, and most of all, the type of ride I expect from any other expensive vehicle. The price is right, and the extended warantee was well worth the buy.

Excellent car, but as usual, poor visiblility out of back glass. Height is way too low on all armrest. Gas mileage is subpar. Needs to be able to toggle average miles per gallon. HID lights are nice for flat roads, but not on twisty roads. Too isolated of a beam. Seats need be longer.

Look at MDX smaller gas tank and less driving range and less room overall. Explorer Ford need I say more. BMW X5 no room Big Price tag.X3 what is it? Discovery, Finally it is no more. Land Rover LR3 great looking has all the goodies "its a wait and see" Giant Price tag!!(Ford, get real) MB MLs If I want to buy a Merc made in USA, Oh wait I got one its called Pacifica!! Mls are all made here and are no better than any other American made car. Don’t pay the extra for the label. Toyota and Lexus, same thing different tag. Great trucks but I think they think German only when they price them. Earth to Japan are you there?

  • I love my car!!! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

This car is awesome. My last two vehicles were vans (much to my 16 year olds dismay), and this gives van interior with a cool looking exterior. My teen is not ashamed to be seen driving this one! The interior feels so luxurious. Weve only had it for a month and cant wait to take a long trip in it. It handles like a dream and I love all the safety features. Radio/CD/DVD/Volume control on the steering wheel makes it easier to change stations without taking eyes off the road (VERY important when a 16 year old drives). Wish there was more storage space when third row is up, but we are a family of five, so can leave one seat down. Gas Mileage is poor, but a safe and comfortable ride. LOVE IT!

I think it uses too much gas but is very comfortable to drive and sitting. Very stury and heavy car. Needs more power though.

  • The engine cuts off! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I fell in love with this car for its safety and features. Well, its been in the shop 3 times for problems with the upgraded sound system I bought. Now, its going in because the ABS light is on and get this... the car just turns off when you go to slow down and turn sometimes!!! Also, I was on my way to work this a.m. and slowed down to turn, and the car sped up with my foot on the brake!!!!!!! I am infuriated. I wont drive myself or my 5 yr old in this car ever again. I read online reviews and these engine problems seem to be VERY common. They neglected to inform me of this when I bought the car.
