This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

We were attracted to this vehicle because of its beauty. However, from the drivers seat, I could not reach out the window comfortably without undoing my seatbelt. The front is so compact, purses, bags, etc. are literally under your legs. I had trouble juding distance from not being able to see over the dash very well. The back row was general kept down for storage. However, if we suddenly needed space for another passenger, we had to unpack and lift the seats, which was very awkward. My daughter could not rest on long trips, because the seat would not recline all the way to sleep because of the back row being laid down for luggage.

Excellent ride - Quiet and stable. Could use a little more HP but is adequate for normal driving. Gas Mileage is about 20 - but car is fairly hefty in weight. Nice fit and finish throughout.

  • Wasnt my first choice but I like it. - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I choose the Pacifica after the deal on my first choice, the Chrysler 300, fell through. I wasnt about to pay sticker for the 300 and there were fantastic incentives on the Pacifica and I only drive Chryslers. It has turned out to be a great vehicle. The interior is actually more stylish and more luxurious then the 300. The exterior is also very well designed and I feel the Pacifica stands out among the crowd of other crossover vehicles. Performance is not the best, it always feels sluggish. It handles well for such a large heavy car. I enjoy driving it. My biggest complaint is the fuel economy, its absolutely terrible.

I love the luxury look of the car. Very functional, but Crysler is still experimenting with the customers money. They should not continue to sell this car until all of the problems have been solved.

  • 2K5 Pac TAWD fully loaded - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

After having a test drive, I bought one with 14K miles on it (14 months back). A great car to have and ride with family. Regarding mileage I am not able to conclude the exact MPG as it varies between 14 in city to 20 in Freeway. In a trip all of a sudden the airbag light got on while driving. I did not get the answer for that yet. I took the exit and stopped the engine and resumed after a while. Other than this, the vehicle is so far the best value for money than other similar vehicles of expensive brands.

  • No more luxury cars for me - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

This car suits my needs perfectly. I had an Expedition, but it was too big. A van, but it was a VAN, luxury sedans, but I felt I had to be so neat and careful in them. This car is huge inside, tons of leg room, when using the autostick, you get a lot more get up and go and can zip in and out of traffic much better! I love that if I leave lights on, it shuts them off. DVD system separate from CD system ROCKS...

car is comfortable to drive but is very hard to see your surroundings when backing out of parking spaces and such. The fuel economy is terrible, only getting about 12 around town and 18 to 19 on the highway. The car should be great in the winter with AWD. It has plenty of room for all passengers and like the heated seats for all.

  • Dont Pass the Base Model! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

When it comes to value, dont miss the value offered in the BASE model of the Pacifica. Add the leather package for under $2,000 and you have a wonderful and opulent ride you can own for something under $22,500. with incentives! The car looks like a million and is priced like a VW. As for ride, you wouldnt want anything better for a family vehicle. If you fold down the second row seats you can almost put a washer and dryer inside! The view from the drivers seat is all encompassing and there is NOTHING blocking your forward vision. With the base model you get so much as standard equipment why pay more for the higher priced models?

  • Loved the Interior Comfort - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I liked the ride better than the Jeep Gr Cher and for the price we got all the bells and whistles for what we would have pd for base Jeep. 3rd row a bit too cramped for adults. I hate it being compared to a minivan. We are mid 30s no kids and still want to look cool which I think we do. Weve driven it on a few 300-500mile trips and was very comfy and handled great. Not a great veh if your looking for speed or off roading but was great for freeway and city driving. Last trip got about 24mpg. We originally wanted a Chry 300. Again, the interior of the Pac was much more comfortable and came w/ DVD, Navigation, Sirrus, H Leather, Snrf, auto liftgate, homelink and more for under base 300

Traded in our 2000 Chrysler 300M for a 2005 Pacifica. Very happy so far with the Pacifica. It has all of the luxury and power the 300 had with some extras like a better ride (yes) and a more solid feel. With the side air bags and the excellent crash rating, this is one of the safest cars you can buy today. It is not top heavy like most SUVs and is much more versatile. It is not a mini-van so it does not have a caverness interior, but for four adults and two children, there is plenty of comfort. You may have to give up the third row seating though for luggage storage when traveling long trips. Getting 17 MPG in the city and 20 on the highway.
