This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

Fuel economy stinks! Major complaint... poor rear and side visibility. While looking at the lane to the right of the driver in an effort to move from the left to right lane, visibility is so poor to the point of being dangerous. Storage space is VERY limited when back seats are up. Already had to have the control arms replaced (covered under warranty). Also had to have the front seat belts replaced due to a terrible onion smell on the belts due to a chemical reaction between the seat belt material and foam inside where the seat belt retracts. When I push my electronic seat programmer it changes the radio station! Yet to bring that one up to the dealer! Otherwise, car drives well and looks good

Great hybrid of SUV and car. Nice luxury at a decent price. Purchased mine used with 16K miles on it. 10k miles later, Im still pleased. Excellent fit and finish on the interior--not at all cheap. Had a couple of minor issues, but its still under warranty, so they were fixed. Read the reviews here and all around before my purchase. Have 2 kids and they love having their own seats and cupholders. Ride is excellent-this car has the same rear suspension found on the Mercedes E-Class Good rear leg room. Ive only driven imports for the past 18 years-first American purchase and Im not disappointed.

I like the pacifica, i think its very confortable and drives very sturdy, almost better than my 03 camry sev6. But Ive had numerous problems with the ABS light turning on. Were on our 3rd repair, and it always seems to be the sensor, although I think the problem lies elswhere. We also had a stalling issue only when cruising at low speeds, usually after waiting at a light, the car seems to be in 2nd gear when this happens, with a really low RPM perhaps causing the stall. The dealership adjusted the chip to idle at a higher rpm. Water also builds on the doors, and had to punch holes in the plastic drains, very strange. Other than that, car is great, but needs a better sound system.

The exterior styling is appealing and with 19 inch wheels, most appealing however, the chrome clad could be replace with just regular alloy and look much better. The engine at 250 hp is adequate only, the overall weight at 4700 # is excessive and does impact on performance. The 4 speed transmission should probably be a 5 speed or offer a Hemi * 8 that allow for more hp and torque but the mileage of 16 mpg is already too poor. Overall, the interior with leather is adequate, however, some inetrior appointments could improve a bit too lean on style and comfort. Stereo system needs improvement and allow for better adjustments. Speakers are needing much improvement and placement is not ideal.

We traded an Isuzu rodeo for this car and are very happy. The car/suv rides very nice and the fit and finish are much, much better than any other american offering. The mileage is good and the engine feels strong. Only complaint is the view down the right side of the car since the rear end is cavernous. There is room to spare with the 3rd row of seats lowered. I lug around sports gear for kids and this thing is a joy to load and unload. The small touches done on the inside are nice and the dash is clean and easy to read.

  • A great company car - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

We bought this car after driving Subaru, Ford Explorer, Buick Rendevous, and looking at Honda Pilot. I think we made the best decision buying the Pacifica. WE have 7000 miles in less than 6 weeks, and it has performed flawlessly. A great new car!!

I really enjoy driving this car. Its a little hard on the pocketbook for the gas but I feel extremely safe in it. Its great in the snow and I have no problems going up steep hills.

  • Love it! - Except for gas mileage - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

We pretty much love the Pacifica except that we havent gotten more than 18 miles to the gallon in a year even though its sticker said 17-24.

I love my Pacifica. It handles really nice and is great on wet or snowy roads. My only complaint are the blind spots caused by the high Beltline. My husband put Circle mirrors on my side mirrors so I could see whats next to me.
