This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

  • Great all around vehicle - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I was ready to trade my van for a convertible sports car but, with a teenage son who plays drums and needed transportation to college, I gave into a large capacity vehicle. I made a great choice. The Pacifica holds a ton of stuff while providing the feel of a luxury sedan. It drives great, has an outstanding dashboard and electronics inventory, leather, wood trim etc. I can also get 22 bags of mulch into it any time I need to.

  • ABS a problem - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I also am having problems with the ABS brake system. The car only has 38,000 miles and the ABS brake system is failing. Ive already had worn out tire rods replaced and the electronic drivers side seat failed. I am regretting purchasing this car. It is too new to be having these problems.

  • Review of our Chrysler Pacifica - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

We have enjoyed our Pacifica on three road trips so far this year. Its one of the best road cars I have ever owned. Its a terrific ride in comfort and style. Im not as happy with the gas mileage, but the rest of the things we like makes up for it. Its a great trade off.

  • Watch out! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

We bought this car used, was only 2 years old, fully loaded and great price. Or so we thought. Within 2 months, the handle broke from the inside, repair cost $350. Then the wheel bearings need to be replaced, $400. The the radiator hose collapsed, replacement another $180. Now the car keeps overheating when in a stand still position, repair cost unknown. Anyone else having this many problems, weve only had it a year! Many blind spots due to design, is comfy inside and kids love the DVD. Would I buy again? Never! Sticking to Chevys or Nissans, those have worked out way better for me!

  • ABS is only major issue - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

This car has about 17,000 miles on it already, and I can attest to its great overall quality and performance. However, weve had 3 major issues with the ABS system which have required repair at the dealership. The ABS light would come on, and then wed experience some kind of brake force reduction or steering problems. The dealer told us that theyve been seeing a lot of Pacificas for ABS problems. Other than that, its been a VERY reliable car. I love the interior flexibility, the engine power/gas mileage combo, and the car handles kids and cargo with ease. I love its sharp handling and willingness to accelerate when needed, but the brakes also do a great job of stopping as well.

  • Pacifica rocks!!! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Traded off a 2002 Lexus RX300 and all I can say is WOW!! Daimler-Chrysler has a real winner here! Safety went into everything. Roomy cabin with excellent trim and driver features. Travels through Ice/Snow with ease and makes me feel all "fuzzy" inside. Turns heads and makes me feel good! Nobody has anything over on the Pacifica. Sorry Toyota/Lexus and anyone else trying to compete!

  • My wonderful Pacificia - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I love this vehicle. Previously owned a SUV and never felt comfortable driving it due to its size. I feel very comfortable driving my Pacifica. It rides like a million. I do not have all the bells and whistles but I dont care. Two thumbs up on style and comfort to Chrysler.

I traded in a Nissan Pathfinder for the Pacifica and feel the Pacifica is a much better value. The comfort of the ride and the handling are much better. I also feel the standard options and price are much more competitive then the Pathfinder. The Pacifica is also much cheaper to insure because of its excellent safety record. The Pacifica does seem, however, to lack acceleration despite the 250 HP engine.
