This Year's Model Updates:

A midlevel Touring model is added to the Pacifica lineup, and the base model loses some of its standard equipment to accommodate a new lower price. Rear parking assist is now optional.

Pros:
  • Exceptional comfort for four, drives more like a sedan than a minivan, top-notch safety scores, upscale interior design.
Cons:
  • Average room for six, not as family-friendly as most minivans, spotty reliability on early models.

  • Got Oil? - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I love the style of the car and all of the features are wonderful! The DVD/suround sound is also a good feature. Having 6 seats is also an added bonus, but with all of that being said, my car burns more than 1 qt. of oil in about 800 miles. This has been verified twice by the dealership and Chrysler refuses to deal with the problem.

  • Perfect for Us - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

My wife had a spinal fusion and needed a vehicle that would have easy ingress and exit, give excellent back support and have a smooth, smooth ride. The Pacifica fit the bill on all accounts. The seats are very supportive and adjust to any posture. The ride is buttery smooth, even over the most potholed of Michigan roads, but the car rides flat on curves- no rolling typical of a large American car. We are very impressed by the build quality and interior materials. No plasticky feel or cheap-feeling surfaces. On the downside, the gas mileage is pretty bad with a huge range- from 13.5 city to 22 highway. The sound system has a lot of bells and whistles but the sound is rather poor.

Great overall vehicle and its not a mommy car, despite what some may think.

  • Very Happy Pac Owner - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

I recently purchased an 05 Red FWD 3.8L 5 passenger Pac and have been very pleased so far. Those that knock the performance must be expecting too much. I transitioned from a Turbo Volvo S40 and I have been pleased with the performance. The car is assembled very well and exhibits surprising handling, comfort and has a quiet cabin. All in all a very satisfactory experience. I purchased mine by way of the dealers internet offer page. My price before tax,tag and title, 19,995! That included the beautiful red metallic paint and the alloy wheels. I think that at that price, my pacifica is a whole lot of car & value for the money.

  • Irritating hissing noise "characteristic - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

Comfort and options are very nice but apparently has a common problem that DC refuses to address ..... a hissing/spitting sound that telegraphs across the front of the vehicle when the AC compressor is engaged. Without masking noise (radio, etc.), it is like a "mosquito flying around your ear". Never had this with any other Chrysler product (98 Intrepid ES, 2001 Town & Country). Even the most inexpensive Dodge Neon doesnt do this.

  • My Lady "P" - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica

It has been over 10 years since I have had this much fun, driving a car. My husband purchased my Pacifica in Sep 04. He purchased the model which had all the options I wanted. The adjustable gas pedal allows me to drive with a safe distance between me and the driving wheel; the rear seats allowed my parents to ride comfortably on a long road trip-no leg cramps for my mother. My second favorite option is the liftgate-remote control, hands free. Comes in handy when shopping. Having the controls on the wheel has allowed me to keep my eyes on the road, while I adjust the volume or change CDs. Within 10 minutes of driving, my husband, the passenger, falls asleep. The Pacifica is a true joy

  • Replaced the Explorer/Use E.C. Rated Oil - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

Had WET battery replaced by the dealer five days after purchase with a "maintenance free" GEL battery by Chrysler. Every other component has worked as promised. Very pleased with this car. At 5,000 miles I Changed the oil to synthetic 10-30 Castrol SYNTEC Energy Conserving and have improved mileage from 15.5 to 17 for basic town trips. 22-23MPG depending on 65-70mph trips. Anything above 70mph will drop it down to 19-20mpg. Hauling 2,000lbs brings the mileage down to 15MPG. So far, this has outperformed the 97 "Full Time" 4x4 Eddie Bauer Explorer we had. It received 17MPG average with 18 max on the highway. Insurance is HALF! It handles better and does not wobble over a curb.

  • One of the best - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

One of the best driving vehicles Ive ever had. The gas mileage is not bad for the weight of this vehicle. The only complaint I have is rear view problems. You cannot see good out the back, however driving this SUV on the highway is a dream. Plenty of leg room front and back, handling is also good.

  • Great Vehicle! - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

Great to drive! Very classy looking vehicle. I was torn on what color to choose...ended up with red and I am thrilled with it! It is very comfortable and roomy. The kids are finally NOT kicking the front seats (which happened regularly in my Town & Country)

  • Nice, comfortable - 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
    By -

20,000, 2.5 years into my base Pacifica and everything is going fine. Very easy to drive, more than adequate pickup, good response and plenty of base features have made this car easy to own. Milaege is low of course and its not easy to park, the doors seem like they are a foot thick! When my lease is up Ill consider purchasing this car.
