This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, Chevrolet has dropped the high-line LTZ trim level. Power-adjustable pedals, a DVD-based navigation system, automatically locking doors and XM Satellite Radio are new features this year. The instrument panel now sports a freshened monochromatic look. The North Face Edition package gets unique 17-inch wheels, while all models get new 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Pros:
  • Strong engine performance, comfortable highway ride, extensive features list, user-friendly controls.
Cons:
  • Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design, low-grade interior materials.

Really like the Trailblazer. Fun to drive. Never had an issue - mechanically... Can pull/trailer but uses some gas. Had an S-10 Blazer and wanted to "upgrade." Liked the S-10 Blazers gas mileage better even when towing... Back seats on the Trailblazer only lay down if you pull fronts seats all the way up... S-10 didnt have to adjust the front seats... Should have kept the s-10 blazer... if you find one, get it... Trailblazer? Dime a dozen. Find one with low miles - youll be happy. Plenty of storage room in the back - its an suv.

After a long search, purchased the 2004 TrailBlazer for its carring capacity and its towing capacity. Very comfortable to drive on city streets and highway. It tends to be very noisy when driven fast. Very good value if maintenance is kept up.

drives and handles excelent.alot less body roll than older suvs much less road and wind noise.rides very smooth.engine performs quite well however at lower speeds has a dead spot on acceleration.interior quality is fair.seats are comfortable, could be a little softer.exterior quality is good.only thing noticable to me rubber around doors do not all fit properly.overall the trailblazer is a real good suv.im happy and enjoy it very much.

Overall this is a great SUV. Everything you hear about the handling is somewhat true. After all, this is a SUV and not a sports car. As for the Fuel economy I think it does fairly well. I am averaging about 18 to 19 mpg and that is in mixed driving. That is better then most SUVs with the same horsepower and torque. So far the things that have got to me about this truck are the Cup holders and the Floor storage compartment. Cup holders are in a bad place for the A/C controls. The Storage Compartment Tab broke the first day. Those are two minor things that I can over look for the value I got in return.

  • Not a bad deal - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Ive had my TB for four months now, and Im pretty happy with it. I average 13-15 miles in combined city/highway driving. The car drives ok for a truck, but I feel like the handling is very rubbery (compared to my F150). Its more than OK for normal driving, though. And its spacious enough to handle all my normal cargo for weekend trips and my dog (German Sheppard) has plenty of space in the back. Its a good car, really.

Just bought this truck 2 weeks ago, so I can only speak to the reliability during that time. So far, so good. I do know the dash was replaced before I bought it, so that timebomb is taken care of. As to gas mileage, Im getting on average of 22 mpg highway and 15 city. Comparable to my F150. Love the handling. Snow and ice dont make me nervous anymore. This thing is a rock! Id buy a new one tomorrow if I could. Much better than the Explorer, and Im usually a diehard Ford freak. The stereo and DVD are just icing. Love the straight 6.

We have had our TB for 4 years and have had very little wrong with it. Some issues in the beginning, but has been great since (knock on wood). We average 17 in the city and 21+ on the highway. For a big 4x4 with a big interior it is a great buy. We plan on driving it till it stops.

  • Favorite SUV So Far - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Weve been thrilled with everything but the gas mileage. We traded in a 2000 2 dr. Blazer LS with a six cylinder engine, and this larger car handles much better than that one did. It has that right on the road "small" car handling feel despite its size and truck status. I doubt well trade this one in, its a keeper.

This vehicle is fun to drive. Has great steering capabilities. Lots of interior room especially for a mid-size SUV.
