This Year's Model Updates:

The Tahoe gets a host of new upgrades for 2003. On the inside, you'll find new tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. New options includes second-row bucket seats and adjustable pedals. A revised lineup of entertainment options offers buyers a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are dual-stage airbags, a standard front-passenger-sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers and an available StabiliTrak stability control system on Tahoes with the 5300 V8. The braking system has been upgraded for what Chevrolet says is better pedal feel and performance and Tahoes sold in California are now fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification. Deleted items on the Tahoe are minor. No longer standard are third-row floor mats, an underhood light, a 7-to-4 pin trailer brake adapter, an auxiliary door lock switch in the cargo area and a lock for the center console.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

  • Everything in one great package - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

After 46,000 miles I still love this car. As comfy as a luxury car with more bells and whistles than most. Towing my boat I sometimes forget its even back there! If you need space for kids, dogs, or just stuff this is the truck 4 you. Not to mention the saftey of having your family in a veritable tank. We will always buy Chevy from now on.

  • Bad Experience - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I been driving my Tahoe for about a year now, but had to take to get repairs about 4 to 5 times now. I am very dissapointed, because they even replaced my fuel pump when it wasnt even a year long..It is hard to belive that I am having this kind of problems with a new vehicle.

I find the fact the put the poor quality Firestone tires on this SUV, a very poor choice. They are terrible in rain and snow. The seats are very poorly constructed compared the 2002 I owned. The mirrors on both sides are loose. Dont like the changes between 2002 and 2003 in the instruments, onboard computer checks. The 1800 price increase between 2002 and 2003 was a reduction in quality and items for this SUV. They took the Onstar and HomeLink out and raised the price. With the changes they made, the price increase was not worth it. I will be looking at other brands next year, after 18 years of driving full size Chevrolet SUVs.

  • We were surprised - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

We were surprised how nice this machine really is. It is easy to park and roomy enough for the whole family in comfort. A pleasure to drive, it wants to continue in a straight line and pulls a trailer with ease. Dont expect sports car thrills, but do expect predictable relaxed comfort and surprising maneuverability.

  • Z71: Im glad to buy American Again - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

GMs incredible incentives were enough to prompt me to sell my Acura MDX in favor of my 1st-choice Chevy Tahoe Z71. So far, I have absolutely NO regrets. The SportUte is awesome. Easy to maneuver, exceptionally comfortable, fantastic sounding XM satellite stereo, and an overall pleasure to drive. Nobody can match this vehicle for the price. Though red was never previously my thing, mine is Redfire Metallic w/tan leather and looks excellent. If youre in the market, you owe it to youself to check these out before you buy!

This vehicle has been a great one. We have had no problems and its much more exciting to drive than our old mini- van. It holds the same amount of people but looks so much nicer. It makes you feel not so bad hauling the kids around in a nice safe vehicle.

  • Keeping my SUV - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Excellent handling in heavy snow, reliable and well powered for pulling our boat. No problems whatsoever in the 2 1/2 years weve owned it. Extremely comfortable on long trips even though you do give up the better mileage of a smaller vehicle. Would definitely buy again.

  • Disappointed - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

Nothing but trouble. In less than three years, the cruise control quit working, as did the speedometer, antilock brakes, power door locks, and the gas guage. The front end will not stay aligned, even when mainly driven on highways. No lumbar support in the front seats no leg room in the rear seats. This vehicle has cost more in repairs than many vehicles total purchase and ownership costs. Biggest automotive mistake Ive ever made.

  • I like this car! - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

After two jeeps and one explorer I have found the machine I will drive from now on. The interior is well designed, and has plenty of "bells and whistles" to keep you occupied. The seats are very comfortable, and the ride is smooth. It gets smoother the faster you go. Handles great in bad weather, you sit up high and can see everything around you very well.
