This Year's Model Updates:

The Tahoe gets a host of new upgrades for 2003. On the inside, you'll find new tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. New options includes second-row bucket seats and adjustable pedals. A revised lineup of entertainment options offers buyers a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are dual-stage airbags, a standard front-passenger-sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers and an available StabiliTrak stability control system on Tahoes with the 5300 V8. The braking system has been upgraded for what Chevrolet says is better pedal feel and performance and Tahoes sold in California are now fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification. Deleted items on the Tahoe are minor. No longer standard are third-row floor mats, an underhood light, a 7-to-4 pin trailer brake adapter, an auxiliary door lock switch in the cargo area and a lock for the center console.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

Other than some minor repairs I have found it enjoyable to drive. Fuel economy doesnt exist in a vehicle this size. But it still lacks horsepower. I never liked that the truck is governed at 100 mph. But what the hey this isnt the autobaun. Truth be said this will be my last Chevy. There are better deals to be made.

We looked at almost all of the mid/full size SUVs before deciding on the Tahoe. The looks of the Tahoe distinguish it from the rest of the pack (especially in Z71 trim), and its interior was *the* most comfortable of any vehicle we test drove. Our previous SUV was mid-size, but my wife and I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy it has been to adapt to the larger Tahoe.

This vehicle is comfortable and attractive. On roads trips it can not be beat. The third row seat is an excellent option for people with children (they can be seperated).

This is the most enjoyable and fun vehicle that I have ever owned. I thought my 1990 Suburban was a great truck, but the Tahoe is even better.

I absolutely love my Tahoe 4x4. I havent had any problems with it so far. My friends have an ML320 and it doesnt compare at all. I wouldnt trade it for any foreign-built vehicle, even though Toyota and Honda make great products. I am 63" 275 lbs. and my Tahoe has more than enough room for me to stretch out. I wish the back seats had a little more room for the kids car seats though. I ride motocross and take it off-road and blast the AC in 100 degree heat - not a problem. This thing is a tank, we affectionately call it "Old Faithful"

I own a loaded Z71 Tahoe. Im a very tall male who wanted not to feel cramped in my vehicle. This truck is exceptionally comfortable. Its a little hard on gas, but lacking nowhere else. I wanted an American truck, and Im very satisfied.

We bought this vehicle after owning several Toyotas, so had lowered expectations. It has proven us wrong. Have had only one minor problem - took it to the dealer and it was fixed within 30 minutes. The ride is great and Bose makes a fine sound system. My wife loves the XM radio which keeps us in touch when on long trips.

  • Not bad for one coat of paint - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I have loved my Z71 version of the Tahoe. It is a strong running vehicle with all the options. One of the options was the rear captains chairs, I wouldnt reccomend for the price. Its just as easy with the bench seat. All in all I have been happy with the performance and prefer the ride over the Expedition.

  • Great SUV - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I looked at many SUVs, including the explorer, 03 4runner, expedition, murano, pilot, highlander, yukon, and envoy. I very seriously considered the pilot, due to previous experience with other hondas, but in the end it did not drive quite as well or have as much room, plus it seems to be one small step from being a minivan.

I thought the Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 edition was one of the most fun vehicles to drive.
