This Year's Model Updates:

The Tahoe gets a host of new upgrades for 2003. On the inside, you'll find new tri-zone climate controls, an enhanced driver-information center and a redesigned center console and instrument panel. New options includes second-row bucket seats and adjustable pedals. A revised lineup of entertainment options offers buyers a Bose audio system, as well as XM Satellite Radio and a DVD-based entertainment system. For increased safety, there are dual-stage airbags, a standard front-passenger-sensing system, three-point belts for all second-row passengers and an available StabiliTrak stability control system on Tahoes with the 5300 V8. The braking system has been upgraded for what Chevrolet says is better pedal feel and performance and Tahoes sold in California are now fitted with a new catalytic converter that earns the truck ULEV certification. Deleted items on the Tahoe are minor. No longer standard are third-row floor mats, an underhood light, a 7-to-4 pin trailer brake adapter, an auxiliary door lock switch in the cargo area and a lock for the center console.

Pros:
  • Strong engines, roomy and versatile interior, numerous available amenities.
Cons:
  • Spotty build quality, interior materials could use improvement.

  • Better than old ford - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

The vehicle is outstanding. My job requires a lot of driving and this car is so much better than the Ford Van that I used to drive. I had an Eddie Bauer Ford and the standard/leather Tahoe is just perfect for me. So far so good.

  • WOULNT TRADE FOR ANY OTHER SUV - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I JUST LOVE MY Z71. IT WORKS GREAT IN THE SNOW AND ON WET ROADS. ANYONE WHO HAS RIDEN IN IT REMARKS ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR AND GREAT RIDE. I CAN TELL YOU MY NEXT SUV IS GOING TO BE ANOTHER Z71.MY LAST SUV WAS AN EXPLORER WHICH I LIKED BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THE Z71. I PUT APPROX. 25,000 MILES ON MY SUV A YEAR. I RODE IN THE HONDA PILOT AND DIDNT FIND THE RIDE THAT COMFORTABLE.

  • Six Months and 12000 Miles Later - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

Six months and 12000 miles later, my suggestion, get one, its the best vehicle I have ever owned. After 12000 miles of driving and in some cases moving heavy loads this auto has exceded all expecations. 20mpg on highway 15 in town. My LT Autoride handels great in all conditions which includes snow, ice, rain, mountain roads and highway. Its ride quality is better than most cars, its faster off the line and performs as good or better than most of the cars on the road and at the same time can carry lots of people and equipment. This is just a wonderful SUV to drive.

  • Bought Tahoe again - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

My first Tahoe had to go to the shop one time in 2 1/2 years (battery replacement)Liked it so well, I traded my black one for a white one and upgraded to the LT. Rides and handles better than my 2001 and much better than the Expedition. Has more power than the Fords.

  • Love it! - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

I love my Tahoe! I drive 38 miles to work everyday, my Tahoe gives me the comfort and reliability I need on a daily basis. The cargo space comes in handy on the weekends for loading of large items (wood, furniture, etc.).

  • Love Hate relationship - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe

Love my Z71. I have had two annoying problems that ruin the experience. Something shaking in the front end and it switches from 4 wheel to 2 wheel on its own. Steering part on back order, and reprogramed transmission. Hopefully this is the end of trips to the dealer and I will have the great experience everyone else seems to be having. The truck is fast, more comfortable than my Cadillacs, and rides nearly as well. Can haul a bunch of stuff, and looks good. Suprised at first year depreciation of $10,000(retail to trade in value).

  • Gm has the worst service department - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

I brought the truck new and have put 20,000 miles on it. My onstar stop working, windsheild wipers wont shut off at times, airbag service light comes at times and the front end seems loose when curving right or going over bumps. Also, Ive been told the all gm vortec engines have piston slap and gm refuses to fix it. Ive been to the dealer 3 times and they cant seem to fix the problems. The dealer service department is the worst, no loaner car or ride to work, I get my truck back and it has grease and pen marks on my leather seats, it takes on average 4hrs to change the oil and worst of all the service tech told me dont worry about minor problems.

  • Love our Tahoe! - 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe
    By -

8 months into my new Kia Sorento I had problems and traded it in for our Tahoe which we both love. It drives like a truck for my husband, but is smooth enough for me to drive. I would buy another one in a heartbeat. Great truck!
