- Upscale look inside and out, quiet cabin, generous storage bins, roomy back seat, fuel-efficient four-cylinder, available high-tech features.
- Not quite as much cargo space as chief rivals, some controls difficult to reach, lifeless steering.

One yr of experience - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Cat - August 20 - 11:58 pmBought my 2010 equinox LT 6 cyl a year ago. Drove it 20000 miles. Love the speed of pick up. Pretty smooth ride. interior does not give me as much room as I would like. I am coming off a 1997 GMC jimmy also a 6 cyl.I was alarmed when I took it in for an alignment and discovered there were no Cams. They needed to be added. Love it on road trips. That is when you see the fuel savings.

impressed - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Bob - August 15 - 6:40 amThis is my first new car. I really enjoy it. I think that the fuel economy as provided by EPA is correct if you choose the 4 cyl and lowest HP. It depends how you drive mostly but on a straight highway and 65 mph you can get even better than 33 mpg. Recommendation to the other drivers: USE CRUISE CONTROL to get the best mileage !

2010 Equnior LT1 4 cyl. - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Carroll Sojourner - August 5 - 10:11 amEPA should be ashamed for stating est. milage SO HIGH. Ours is 4 cyl. LT2. We are very disappointed with gas mileage 0f 24 mpg, when we live in country mostly level roads, and do very little start and stopping. Have 09 Chev. Impala which easily achieves avg of 28 mpg on same roads. Vehicle needs garage door opener, and option of full power seat on passenger side.

Best American Option - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By rgwaz - July 29 - 2:04 amI love Hondas, but decided to give an American car a final chance. I purchased an Equinox for its style, safety, MPGs, 100K warranty, and low costs for the LS model. The interior is comfortable with lots of room. The vehicle says wow to the eyes, but cheap to the touch (too much hard plastic and fragile controls). The 4cly is quiet and provides great performance in town, but only acceptable highway acceleration. The EPA estimate of 22&32 Mpg seems mythical. I drive in the eco mode and make it a game to get the best mileage. I average 19 city & 26 highway. Also, the computer reads 2 miles more than actual mileage. Be sure to also look at the RAV4 and Forester.

False EPA Statements - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By rwelch - July 22 - 10:06 amMy Equinox overall is a good auto, the EPA fuel mileage is very disappointing. I changed driving habits, & use pure gasoline with no ethanol, & still get around 21 MPG a far call from the 32 EPA & yes I have even drove it on a 1600 mile road trip. I think the 32 MPH is all HYPE or my auto may have a problem, If you own a equinox would you please let me know how your fuel mileage is doing? Thanks & sorry GM I think you overstated your EPA as a sale pitch to sale autos during the times of high fuel cost.

Continuous Message Popping Up - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By amossbur - July 9 - 10:47 pmSo I bought my 2010 Equinox LT1 on January 29th of this year. I love it and dont regret buying it. I do have a few problems with it though. About 3 months after I bought it, a message began to pop up whenever I would hook up my iPhone 3G. It would read, "No supported data found. You can safely disconnect the device." It started not even recognizing my iPhone anymore. Now the same message comes up about every 5 minutes or so when Im driving, and nothing is even hooked up to the car! I have taken it into the dealer 3 times in the past 3 months to get it fixed, and they cant seem to fix the problem. I want to keep the car because I love it, but does this fall under the lemon law?

Nice looking, but quality is not there - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Joann - June 15 - 3:37 pmOwned since August of 09. In Jan 10, heat stopped working. Took two days with the dealer to fix. June 10, starter and air conditioner condenser broke. Dealer had car for three days, fixed the starter, but had to order condenser unit from GM. Still waiting for delivery. Very unhappy with the quality of the parts. What will break next? Also, gas mileage is not what was advertised. Was this vehicle built on a Monday?

800 miles and tranny trouble - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By cowboywong - June 10 - 9:11 amI was happy till after 800 miles win the transmission intermittently shifts unusually at low and high speeds. Its scheduled for the second appointment to get an extensive test drive. I feel the service dept is trying but they indicate there are no codes and the 6 speed transmission is unusual in nature in that it doesnt shift right/normally. It is also very intermittent but my confidence is pretty much gone in the drive train. In addition the ignition/ steering wheel locked and had a couple of other incidences with the ignition switch, again intermittent problem, service could not duplicate the issue.

Nice, I guess - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Gene - June 6 - 9:30 pmI actually have the V-6 Equinox. That is my biggest debate on this vehicle. I like the vehicle. It is nice and roomy. The adjustable backseat works for carrying the kids and then adjusting to carry my work stuff. So far, it seems to be working well. I heard about how well the I4 is performing, but went with the V6 because I like to move and may need to pull a motorcycle trailer. Yet, the engine has not been that impressive. It has an initial lag. The transmission can be a bit harsh. I was just not impressed with it. The only other complaint I have is the fog lights. This model has automatic lights. Yet, I have to reach past the regular light switches to reach the fog lights. annoying

Great Tall Person Car - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Will Weber - June 5 - 2:46 pmAs a tall (64") person I have trouble finding cars that fit. This is the most comfortable, height-accommodating vehicle I have owned or driven. The front seat slides way back and still leaves rear leg room. On my first big trip in lots of rain and mountain driving I was shocked to average 28 mpg, but I did use the econo feature quite a bit and monitored the instantaneous mileage readout. I am used to feeling stiff and cramped after a long drive, but this vehicle has allowed me to cut back on my yoga. I dont like the exterior styling, but if this is the design necessary to make the interior so satisfying, I can accept the boxy-bulgy look.
