Pros:

Cons:
  • Not quite as much cargo space as chief rivals, some controls difficult to reach, lifeless steering.

  • Chose an Equinox over a Santa Fe - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Having recent bad luck with a Saturn I swore the next car would be foreign. We looked long and hard at the Santa Fe and the Forester. A friend told me to give the new Equinox a look and I might be surprised. I expected the worst. The Equinox knocked my socks off. Beautiful car, much more attractive than the other two. Nicer interior. Very cool looking dash board. The ride is nice and quiet, but its a bit rough on bumpy pavement. So far, 300 miles in, things look good. City mileage looks exactly at 22mpg, which is the EPA standard. Hoping to get 28mpg on the highway as I really dont think 32mpg is attainable in the real world.

  • Love this car but wheres my fuel going? - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Love this car, bought it in Henderson Nevada and promptly drove it to Salt Lake City 425 miles and averaged 18 mpg. I was told that we were going to get a hell of a lot better mileage than that. Anybody have any suggestions? If not I believe I am going to opt for the 60 day return policy. I bought this car looking for good fuel economy as far as that goes I am very disappointed!!!

  • Best of the mid-size crossovers. - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Ordered 11/30/09. Delivered 01/30/10. LT1 w/pwr drivers seat, upgraded speakers, back-up camera. Dealer accessories included mud guards, cargo net and cargo shade. Solid vehicle. Peppy 4-cyl, esp when not in "Eco" mode. Getting 21-22 mpg in town, and engine not fully broken in yet. Large, comfy seats. Quiet cabin. Sensible dash layout. Attractive interior and exterior styling. "Eco" mode causes earlier shifting, so sometimes car will rumble at low speeds. Very few of these cars on dealers lots. Well worth the wait.

  • Nervous about my engine - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

I bought this vehicle for my wife. It fits the bill for decent fuel mileage, comfort, style, and cargo capacity. Im disappointed in the fact that the engine has already been in the shop for a "top end cleaning". It began to spark knock at about 3,000 miles with the A/C on and at 4,000 miles, GM instructed dealer to clean the top end and tell me to use only top tier fuels. The cleaning of the top end seems to have fixed the knock, but I find it hard to believe average gasoline would leave enough deposits behind in so few miles to warrant a top end cleaning. I feel this saga is just beginning. Will followup on this issue as time goes on.

  • Disappointment - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Just bought this 2010 Equinox. 2010 no longer comes with a fold flat front passenger seat, not even an option. This reduces the utility factor. I drive with a light foot in ECO mode yet I only have averaged 23.7 mpg. 80% of my driving is 4 lane with the cruise on 60 mph. The rear blind spots are terrible, the rearview camera is a necessity not just an option.

My lighter HHR was sportier & handled better, but a lot noisier, so I appreciate the quiet luxury feel of this one. I would delete gaudy chrome, useless roof rack & lower the body to close the gap over the tires. Lower center of gravity always improves handling.

  • My 2010 Equinox - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

I traded in 05 Dodge Magnum. Needed something with room but that got better mileage. Equinox was my choice. I love my crossover. Fremont Chevrolet was the best experience I have had with a Dealership.

  • Super fuel efficient SUV - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

GM had it coming even before the gov guys gave them a kick. This one appears to me as the most fuel efficient 4-cyl non-hybrid, non-diesel SUV on the market. 2010 Equinox was redesigned inside out. The front is great, the side seems like stolen from Merc M class but the back is oldish. The interior is stolen from Volvo -- the vents, dash layout, even the key fob. Very roomy on the inside, the back seat bench slides back and forth, front seats are very accommodating, very! The trunk is on the smaller side though. As to fuel economy -- the numbers are great but you sacrifice driving dynamics. A little slow to speed up from stand still but then OK. 4-cyl a little noisy.

  • whats with the gas milage - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Too early to tell reliability, this is my work horse 30K a year. went back to American 1st time in many years. need to support our icons. I have been watching the mile per gallon indicator setting trying to maximize. So far GMs claims are far fetched I avg 21- 22 total street and hwy combined. hope that improves like a good wine with age as it breaks in. Sometimes at light car flutters and stalls out. I told dealer and they said to bring in that iy may be a bad sensor.

  • somewhat stressed - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

At test drive the Chevy Equinox drove, handled great. After purchasing the 2010 Chevy Equinox, and driving it for a month, I started hearing this motor noise (which sounded like a lifter inside motor). Took into dealership we purchased our Equinox from, explained to the service attendant. Service writer wrote up a ticket for the problem. After checking out our Equinox, service attendant called and said our Equinox was ready. When asking the service attendant about the noise he told us that it was just what that engine does. We have taken our Equinox in 2 other times and noting can be done about it. Now the noise seems to be getting worse. Engine is really noisy.
